STEPS IN CONCERT 🥹

I don’t think it’s hit me yet but, I’m premiering a new work at the Joyce next week... 🫠

Steps in Concert is an annual fundraiser hosted by Steps on Broadway and all proceeds from the evening will go to the Carol Paumgarten Scholarship Fund. This year, the show is at the Joyce Theater in NYC.

The fund grant aspiring dancers of all ages and levels the opportunity to train with world class teachers preparing them for a professional dance career.

I hope you’re able to make it. Here are the details:

MONDAY // OCTOBER 19
7:30pm
@thejoycetheater

One of the main reasons I’m excited to share this work because it’s starring dancers who take and I’ve gotten to know through my class at Steps:

Meghan Allen // @_meghanallen_
Megan Dunn // @meg.dunnn
Sam Grayson // @sam_grayson
Nina He // @nihe07
Morgan Manning // @morgan.manning08
Daeyana Moss // @daeyanagenette
Kali Putzig // @kalimadison

Assosiate/Assistant Choreographer; @jrae13
Sound Design; Marc Cardarelli

Thank you to @stepsonbroadway @lanterijoe for the opportunity 🙏🙏 AND @mindyyohoho , Diane Grumet and @stepsconservatorynyc for the initial opportunity to create and teach at Steps.

See you on MONDAY!!

SAVE THE DATE ✨ I’m thrilled to finally share that BOCA TUYA will perform as part of the Lincoln Center Contemporary Dance Festival in January 2027!

I’m incredibly grateful to Donald Borror and Lincoln Center for the invitation, and I cannot wait to bring the New York premiere of Sombreristas to Alice Tully Hall.

For this performance, we’re bringing some of the original Sombreristas cast back together. It feels like a family reunion, returning to a work that has become such an important part of BOCA TUYA’s story and identity.

For me, this is also a way of honoring the artists who helped build BOCA TUYA long before anyone was paying attention. Bringing them home to New York, and now to Lincoln Center, feels like a truly special full-circle moment.

I’m so excited to celebrate this work, this family, and everything that has brought us here.

There’s something really special about getting to experience something you once looked up to from the other side🤍
Dance has given me so much over the years, and getting the opportunity to now give back to a community that has shaped so much of who I am is something I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words.
My first season on the road with @adrenalinedanceinc and @revive_dance_convention has been such a meaningful one. More than anything, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the people I met and grew closer to, the dancers I got to connect with, the lessons I learned, and the chance to be a small part of something that means so much to so many.

Thank you @lindsey.m.morgan and @j_keez_y for trusting me and for everything you pour into us and this community. Thank you to everyone who made this season so memorable.

Cannot wait to do it all again soon!🤩
