This is going to be a very long, heartfelt post…
Dear travel softball,
Thank you for giving me lifelong memories, lifelong friendships, and a love for this game that will never fade. Over the last nine summers, I’ve played for seven different travel teams, four organizations, and met some of the coolest people along the way. It’s so crazy to think it’s over.. it feels like just yesterday I was that little girl, nervous for Sparks tryouts. I can’t remember a summer that wasn’t spent at the softball field competing.
Through every win and every loss, I couldn’t have asked for better teammates or coaches. I’m especially grateful that I got to spend my last two summer seasons playing with the girls I grew up with. I’ve met girls who have become like family to me, and I’m so thankful for Hotshots Softball. 🤍
Those of you who know me know that my roots and my love for this game started with the Sparks program. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without them, my parents, and all of my coaches, who invested so much of their time, support, and love into me.
I’m sad to see this chapter come to an end, but I’m so grateful that I got to experience it. This last summer, I really got to see my growth, not just as a player, but as a person. I learned how to work through injury, emotions, and I found the ability to look beyond my stats and remember why I fell in love with this game in the first place.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of this journey. I love you all so much. If you’re in any of these pictures, thank you for the memories. I’ll miss being on the field with you.
This isn’t the end of my softball journey, just the end of one small chapter. So, “don’t blink,” because before you know it, it’s over. I’d give anything to do Pump It Up one last time.
