10 years ago today, I had the surgery to remove a posterior fossa ependymoma near my pituitary gland. With only 2 days between my first migraine and the surgery, It was an abrupt experience to say the least. Although it’s unlikely, the chance of a reoccurrence is always in the cards and I know life loves to throw some curveballs. So although that thought is a frightening one, it acts as a constant reminder to keep a big smile plastered on my face every single day, because there’s no way to count how many we got left. I’ve made it through a full decade since the surgery with nothing more than crappy balance and the occasional headache to remind me. Now I’m just a regular college kid walking around with a few scars on his head. So, Here’s to the next 10 years and making sure I keep that smile on my face 🥂
