There are moments when God changes your heart so deeply that words don’t feel big enough.

These past two weeks at FUGE NGU through SLA were exactly that.

Psalm 23 became so much more than a theme, it became a reminder that when we follow the Good Shepherd, we get to experience His peace, His restoration, His presence, and His faithfulness. Walking with Jesus doesn’t mean every day will be easy, but it does mean we never walk alone. He is with us through every valley, gives us hope in every storm, and faithfully leads us every step of the way.

I will never be able to put into words everything the Lord did over these two weeks. He taught me what intentional community looks like, strengthened my confidence in His calling, and reminded me that He is always working, even when I can’t see it.

I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity to serve, learn, and grow alongside so many incredible people. Thank you to my SLA family, Zalla, and all the incredible staffers and students who made these weeks so special! Every conversation, every worship night, every mission site, and every moment pointed me back to Jesus.

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

Thank You, Jesus.

5 weeks straight living out of the suitcase has come to an end and God has truly saved the best for last. SLA week 2 was one of the most influential experiences to my faith that I have ever had. The Lord moved so intentionally and so evidently in the lives of all who were around me. Wrestling with thoughts of if I even belonged turned into a sense of belonging that could not be extinguished. New friends, seeing salvation right before my eyes, and continuing to overflow my cup, the Lord has truly done a good work in me. As I come back home and finally get a chance to settle down, I pray a prayer where I ask I never lose sight of God and the wonderful things He has done in my life, for the strength and the courage to move Him and His word back home, and to continue to do a good work in me. Ladies and gentlemen, we truly serve a God of glory, a God of grace, and a God of mercy. All I have left to say to Fuge SLA is Peace up, A-Town and I hope to see you next summer!!

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

SLA week 1 post

I’m so incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to learn and grow in my relationship with the Lord. If you don’t know what SLA is it is Student Leader Apprentice, we get to go to FUGE for 2 straight weeks, the first week is a lot of classroom and spending time with the other SLAs. Then the second week you will be pair with a FUGE Staffer to shadow them for the week.

Through all of the first week, all of the SLAs grew so close to one another, which was so wonderful for the second week. We could rely on one another if we had some struggles, hardships, or if we just need a laugh. We truly all became family.

This group has such a special place in my heart! They taught me that as God’s children we can become family in just a small amount of time. All of our inside jokes will keep me laughing forever! They also taught me this is how community in Christ is created!
