Designed an 808 style snare. Mostly by mixing bits from two separate schematics I liked. I referenced the @n8synth 808 snare for the tone and the @moritzklein0 snare for the noise.

Life is living right now…
Played my first live set – slept under the stars in the forest – deepened friendships and connections with people I love having around me.
Grateful to experience things like this, day by day.
I’m filled with motivation and meaning – I promise myself: release more, play more, connect more. This is what I want.

Vibes for tot #JohnConnor, what if a #Firehouse had its own #Treehouse?

🥁🎹 @moritzklein Did you know you can build a drum sequencer with just a shift register, a diode, a button, and one resistor? By routing the chip’s last output back into its input, it can record rhythms and play them back. No microcontroller, no code necessary.

It’s the foundation for our DIY Drum Sequencer kit, which takes the idea further with step deletion, dynamic accents, and even melodic patterns.

A few weeks ago, I was honored to be chosen as the winner of the "Cowbell Challenge" by @moritzklein0 and @ericasynths.

For my prize, I chose the EDU DIY FM DRUM. I assembled it the day it was delivered, but didn't have enough time to put together a quick demo, so here it is.

The sound is completely unprocessed. It might not be very clear out of context, but it is incredibly versatile and capable of producing a surprisingly wide range of sounds.

A big shoutout to Moritz Klein for his amazing work and for creating some of the most inspiring and educational DIY synth content out there!

First prototype: saw wave oscillator core from @moritzklein0 !!!

the idea here was to make the 808 cowbell sound a bit more metallic and push it toward cymbal territory by adding a simple transistor-based white noise generator, introducing a rougher, noisier texture

One more quick one for #laborchallenge @ericasynths @moritzklein0 while freeing up components for the next project. Cross-modulated Schmitt-trigger oscillators. Just the oscillator core of the cowbell circuit with the oscillators driving each other. Chaos!

Swapped some caps out and dropped the pitch into kick territory

everyone loves a vactrol so add one in for that wonky variable decay

swap the timing cap to something smaller and tweak the vactrol resistor for more pew-pew
