Melancholy Metropolitan 'Men'  Opens 7th November @ Bolding @ Alfie's Antiques NW8 8DT /// Drawing from media and material from the 90s to the current day, Melancholy Metropolitan 'Men' delves into the contemporary cultural phenomenon of "Melancholy Metropolitan Masculinity" presenting work that samples and satirises pop-culture representations of men expressing (or performing?) sadness, sensitivity and softness.  Considering the appeal of unconventionally masculine popstars and public figures from Justin Bieber to Cold Play's Chris Martin, as well as the fantasies, fashions and interior design choices of the modern day "sad / soft boy", the exhibition's artists provide a survey look at how sadness has been sold to us in the 21st century following 'The End of History' (and how it has since reshaped our sense of aunthenticity and agency ...). /// Featuring George Miller @georgemiller.work Attiyyah Rahman @attiyyahrahman Moritz Tibes @moritztibes Lulu Williams @luluwilliams_ Luke van Gelderen @lukevangelderen And curated by @me (Cameron McClellan) @cm150cc  Opening 7th November 3-6pm and then open 12th, 13th, 14th @ Bolding at Alfies Antiques, 13-25 Church St, NW8 8DT Made possible with the support of  @bolding__ & @alfiesantiques More details soon To Be Confirmed ... xxx

In January, Moritz Tibes (@moritztibes) shot Florence Sinclair (@sincl6ir) for our most recent issue on music. Paris-based gallery Balice Hertling (@balicehertling) had shown the exhibition “Black Swans Moan“ by artist Kayode Ojo during this time and agreed to open their doors for us. There was an illusion of human presence throughout the works, a sort of shedding of a second skin: jackets were placed on the backs of chairs, cameras were set down in quiet corners, shoes sat ready to be put on and worn out to a party, and garments were strewn across metal frames.
