Further expanding the ever-evolving soundscape of Hood Records, HOODREC004 sees producer Moroka deliver a four-track exploration through Late-night, introspective, deep, jazz improvisation and MPC-driven house music. Deeply rooted in London’s rhythmic heritage, the EP captures both the rawness of live performance and the precision of modern club production.

Opening cut “Blow to the Nose” lands with syncopated swagger a crisp, percussive workout where sharp drums and shifting chords collide in perfect balance. “Tuesday of the Year” follows, an off-kilter, free-jazz-inflected piece brimming with restless energy and melodic playfulness. “Milk & Jelly” dives into warm, swinging grooves, balancing rhythm and emotion with effortless flow. Closing the EP, “Odessa Vanessa” locks into a hypnotic, loop-driven MPC house groove propulsive, soulful, and deeply human in its repetition.

With HOODREC004, Moroka brings a distinctly London perspective to the Hood Records catalogue a fusion of rhythm, improvisation, and soul that continues to push the label forward.
