Getting comfortable being uncomfortable is one of the BEST life lessons I've learned and adopted... and it started around 16. I was a perfectionist through and through. Like, felt legitimate shame or embarrassment if I wasn't immediately decent at something 🫠🙄And I trained extensively in Ballet- disciplined, exacting, specific, almost unattainable perfection. And a very clear vocabulary.

Then, one summer I got a scholarship to dance at @mortonstreetdance in Baltimore and I had to take African and Improv classes... oh good lord! My little bunhead burst 😂 I was SO frustrated because all of my "lift" now had to become grounded. All of my "strength" now had to become released. And all of my structure become totally unstructured. And it changed my life... it pushed me and rebuilt me in ways I never imagined as a dancer- and that confidence I gained from feeling like a flopping fish out of water to building a new sense of comfort and coordination became a new approach to my life: if it makes me uncomfortable? I'm going to lean allllll the way into it. I don't back down. I don't quit because I'm frustrated and feeling awkward or uncomfortable. I cherish those moments bc I know on the other side is eventually mastery and pride in the ways I grew.

➡️So next time you feel like throwing in the towel or walking out on something that's coming really damn hard... maybe try leaning allllll the way in for a while and see if you don't find yourself on the other side with a new set of skills 😉😘 Thank you to Morton Street Dance Center for truly setting my life on a new trajectory. I never expressed that to them until this moment... ❤️ Keep doing amazing work with the children of Baltimore 😘

And thank you to the amazing Selen Wilson Guerra and Yosvany Pascual for the work you do with dancers, and especially the next generation of young dancers @qsigalatradicion down in Louisville 🤩 Everything hurt in the best way after this 😂🫣 Te quiero familia!

Students and families heard from an expert panel, networked, and engaged in one-on-one conversations at the free event Dance and College: Sharing Knowledge, hosted September 27 by Morton Street Dance Center and Full Circle Dance Company. Featuring faculty members, admissions representatives, and alums from highly varied college programs, the discussion highlighted the many opportunities available to dancers interested in higher education.

“Thank you for organizing this wonderful event.... It really gave us an idea of options. The whole panel was very informative.”—parent attendee

Honored to join Ms. Donna and the Morton Street Dance Center family to cut the ribbon on their new home.

For more than three decades, Ms. Donna has poured into generations of young people through dance, discipline, instruction, and opportunity. Young people come from across Maryland to learn from her, and I am grateful that she continues to choose Baltimore as the place to call home.

Congratulations on this next chapter.

Baltimore is at the epicenter of an arts renaissance. I am excited to announce that the Morton Street Dance Center has opened in the Fabulous 14th District! For over three decades, Morton Street has been a family and inspiration for young people to dance and gain confidence. Many professional dancers have come from Morton Street, and now they are bringing their talent to our city. Ms. Donna, thank you for choosing us and enriching our arts scene. Congratulations on the grand opening! 🎉

It’s official: Ritual and Revolution tickets are on sale now.

Ritual and Revolution — our 26th season concert — comes to the Baltimore Museum of Art on November 1, 2026.

You’ve seen the sneak peeks. Now you’re seeing the vision: new work from our choreographers, new images by our longtime friend Brion McCarthy, and a season built around the rituals that ground us and the revolutions that move us forward.

Save the date. Bring someone you love. We’ll see you November 1.

Decades of memories in one building leave a mark.

As Morton Street Dance Center prepares to move, Full Circle is packing up too — and it’s impossible not to look back. This space held everything: master classes and mini performances, in-house dress rehearsals where new work found its legs, baby showers for company members, community gatherings, students who grew up in front of our eyes and came back as alumni and friends.

It held the hard parts too. The sweat, the tears, the injuries we danced through, the battles a small dance organization in the heart of Baltimore fights just to keep going. Through all of it — new work, new milestones, new friends — this community kept showing up for each other.

Important work was made here. Lifelong friendships were made here. We were made here.

We’re not leaving any of that behind — we’re taking it with us. See you in the new space. 🚚✌🏾

We couldn’t leave without one last dance. ❤️

This is what it looked like — our final class in the space that has been home for so many years. @mortonstreetdance dancers, Full Circle company members, and anyone who had ever shared this space — all were welcome, and they showed up.

Every smile, every step, every face in this room is a reminder of what this community is really about.

The move is here. The next chapter begins now. And we cannot wait.

We develop dancers. We always will. ✨❤️

These walls have seen a lot.

Thousands of pliés on these floors. The beep of the front door opening. The corner where someone always left their warmup. The hallway where parents and children pressed close to catch a glimpse of Full Circle in rehearsal, watching something real being made right in front of them.

For 26 years, Full Circle Dance Company has moved through these rooms. We know every creak, every corner, every quirk of this space. It became ours — not because we owned it, but because we showed up in it, again and again, and left a little piece of ourselves behind every time.

A space is just four walls and a floor. We know that.

But these particular walls held something. They held the early years when we were still figuring out who we were as a company. They held the hard seasons and the triumphant ones. They held the work — so much work — and the community that gathered around it. They held us when we needed holding.

And now we get to take all of that with us.

The memories don’t stay behind. They come with us — into new studios, onto new floors, through a new door — where there is more room than ever before to keep making them.

Thank you for everything, old friend. We’ll take it from here. ❤️

One last class at Meadow Mill before we say goodbye to this studio — and one final photo with the most dependable member of the company. Never late, never absent, featured in every single piece. We danced around this one for years (literally). IYKYK 🖤
