2024 ended dramatically with literal manifestations of my word for the year, “Heal” 🔪🙌🏽
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some highlights from Sept through Dec 2024:
🔻September: Faculty show at Pratt Institute and supporting friend’s projects during a busy fall art opening season.
🔻October: Thinker-in-residence for Art in Odd Places festival. @sonnithemiki for president 2028!
🔻November: @FIREWALLCafe exhibition and short film screening in BK. City holiday celebrations with friends after a devastating 45th birthday on Election Day. Bilateral carpal tunnel surgery on both hands.
🔻December: first Christmas at my parent’s new retirement home in Garland, TX
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Here’s to HOPE in 2025!!! ✨

This has been a very full year. Some epic, amazing awesome moments, some harsh realities we all had to face. So grateful for my friends, family, my job, the amazing city I live in! Thank you for making my life so much fun. Now let’s slide into 2025 with fierce queen energy, full of abundance, joy, and just a kiss of rage against the systems that divide us. 😘. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Osaka Miami (the original opened in Lima 20+ years ago) This meal was in my top 5 for 2024. Every bite was so thoughtfully prepared with the freshest, cleanest fish and served in super tasty, interesting sauces. And oh my god, the rice was… perfection- delicate and seasoned to perfection. 10/10, my advice: focus on the ceviches and nigiri. #miami #japanese #peruvian #sushi #foodie #restaurant #osaka
