Thank you so much to the best team — Vic & Corn for being a rock of a production team, Bruno for giving me the chance to produce such an amazing short and every single person who was so incredibly talented and cool!

I had the pleasure of working on Ish for five weeks a couple of summers ago as Stunt Coordinator, overseeing the cast’s physical action and safety. While not an action-driven film, it still demanded careful planning and supervision throughout, and tonight I finally got to see it on the big screen, followed by a really interesting Q&A.

It’s a beautifully crafted film. The story begins by following two young friends before opening out into the lives of the wider group around them, all brought to life by a wonderfully talented young ensemble cast. Shot in black and white in a 4:3 aspect ratio, every frame looked like a painting hanging in an art gallery. The cinematography is simply stunning.

What makes the performances even more impressive is knowing that the young cast were all first-time actors. Their performances are completely natural and believable, which is a real credit to each of them and to director Imran Perretta, who has done a wonderful job bringing this story to the screen with honesty and authenticity.

Congratulations to Imran, producers Dhiraj Mahey and Bennett McGhee, the cast and the entire crew. It was a real pleasure to have played a small part in the journey, and seeing the finished film on the big screen made all those weeks of hard work worthwhile.

If you get the chance to see Ish, I’d thoroughly recommend it. It’s a beautifully crafted British independent film that deserves to be seen.

Thank you @wisil.mitty for being such an integral part of this journey with me. In this game, it takes a village. so my advice young filmmakers is to make sure to pick your villagers very carefully. This is easier said than done. One of the best ways is to ask tough questions in your very first meeting with people. Ask them how they like to work and more importantly how they don’t like to work. See if your taste and opinions align. Trust me if you dont have this awkward conversation to begin with, it will lead to multiple awkward conversations and situations which are much harder to untangle later on. You don’t want that in the thick of preproduction or production or post. Big shouts to @majdalkhaz for the edit and following on in Kofi’s position. LFG 🔥🔥🔥🚀
