A giant box lost in the desert. Maybe solitude is the purest form of art.

Time to share some more of the animatics for Clockboy. For these, I tried to get more slapstick gags. I watched a lot of Buster Keaton for ideas and added so many Cuphead references to PureRef for the drawings.

I had in mind the videos of "Every frame a painting" where he discusses the use of staging and how to create a gag using Buster Keaton and the Looney Tunes. These videos are totally recommended if you need to start a scene fresh.

Cheers.

Last year I also had the opportunity to work on this piece for Honkai Star Rail with Appetit. Directed by Salva Simó and produced by Mechi Serrano.

I was commissioned to do the storyboarding and animatics, and the biggest effort went into shaping and defining the character of Clockboy.

Here I'm sharing a portion of the immense Pureref, packed with references. I won't mention the number of times I watched Eric Goldberg videos and Maël Gourmelen's short film "The Inspector and the Umbrella."

I'll leave a couple of scenes; I'll upload the rest next week.
