TRAIL BRAKING: The release matters. 🏁

As lean angle increases, brake pressure decreases. Don’t treat the brake like an ON/OFF switch and dump it at turn-in. A smooth, progressive release helps manage front-tire load, control entry speed and put the bike where you want it.

More lean = less brake.

Why do racers dangle the inside leg under hard braking? 🏍️💨

It’s not just style—and it’s not random.

Under heavy braking, weight transfers forward and the rear gets light and wants to rotate. Taking the inside foot off the peg helps shift body mass and gives the rider another way to manage that rear movement.

It also completely unloads the inside peg, so you’re not adding pressure that can encourage even more rotation.

Then, as you release the brake and commit to the corner, the foot comes back onto the peg and you’re ready for turn-in.

The faster you go, the more the little details matter.

Your peg pressure shouldn’t stay the same through the entire corner. 🏍️💨

Under hard braking and on entry → inside peg unloaded.
At full lean → load the inside peg.
As you pick the bike up and drive out → transition pressure to the outside peg.

It’s not about stomping on the pegs—it’s about when and where you apply pressure as the bike moves through each phase of the corner.

And that inside leg you see racers hanging off the bike under hard braking? 👀

STOP CHASING YOUR KNEE. 🏁

Getting your knee down doesn’t make you fast. You can drag knee with bad body position, bad lines and bad technique.

Your knee is a tool. It gives you a reference at lean and becomes another contact point when you’re really at the limit.

The goal isn’t touching the pavement. The goal is riding the motorcycle correctly — line, vision, braking, body position and throttle.

Get those right, and the knee takes care of itself.

Ride better. Speed follows.
