First issue as editor is out in the world! 📰✨🖤 When I was in college I would drive to Wrightwood and pass the little news office and think “what a great life to own and operate a small town newspaper.” 😱 Just so grateful for this moment and what’s ahead. If you’re curious, 👀 mtprogress.com 🫶

🔥 SERRANO SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🔥 Meet Gavin Cregger, a member of the Serrano High School Class of 2027 who was recently featured in the Mountaineer Progress News Senior Spotlight! 📰👏 Gavin’s Serrano journey has been shaped by friendship, football, leadership, and his passion for the fire service. He says some of his favorite memories are simply sharing laughs and good times with friends, moments he knows he’ll appreciate long after graduation. 🏈🔥 Football and the Serrano Fire Program have taught Gavin discipline, humility, teamwork, leadership, and a strong work ethic. One of his proudest accomplishments is becoming a Captain in the Serrano Fire Program, a role that reflects his dedication and commitment. 🚒 After graduation, Gavin plans to take the NREMT exam, become a licensed EMT, and apply to the San Bernardino County Fire Department Hand Crew. His ultimate goal is to become a full-time firefighter and serve his community. Gavin credits his coaches, Mr. Chacon, and his friends for helping him grow into the student and leader he is today. 💬 And the quote that keeps him motivated? “Pressure is a Privilege.” 👏 Congratulations, Gavin, on being featured in the Mountaineer Progress News!
