We have a couple of lovely studio spaces that have recently come available at Sunny Hill.
One is on the ground floor with easy access and lots of natural light.
The other is a large room on the first floor with a huge wall of north facing windows.
Both spaces are available to local artists, designers and makers, on flexible terms.
Come and join our amazing creative community @sunnyhillstudiosbruton
DM us for more information and to arrange a viewing.

A nomadic king, a playful jester, and also just a simple, pink elephant, fiercely gentle and graciously loving 🤍

I am so happy with this frame, handmade by @mountcollectiveframing which houses this treasured one so beautifully, this time, stained in ebony. It has non reflective glass and hinges and clasps so that you can open it up every so often…

This one is off to the other side of Somerset, so not far, and I am happy that we’ll still be able to wave from across the county.

Love that the elements added another accidental layer of moving shadows when photographing the new triptych Trunk Road outside.
•
Can’t promise the moving shadows but I can promise plenty of golden loveliness at the show starting next Thursday..
•
As always the guys at @mountcollectiveframing & @sabre.graphics are the best of the best at what they do

Delighted to have my piece 'Fae' up as part of the Summer Exhibition over at the wonderful @galleryathome

So special to visit for the opening day last Sunday, and to meet some of the talented artists which I feel privileged to be showing beside. Sonia has created a dreamy place in Gallery At Home, where you can really appreciate the art in the comfort of a lived space. If you're in Wales this summer do drop by for a visit! Open until August 15th.

A Moment for the Frame

I always used to frame my work, then I stopped because framing is such an investment and also my old framer went bust (it’s not easy) and then the next one lived quite a distance away and I couldn’t justify the travel.
When I moved to @sunnyhillstudiosbruton I was so pleased to find @mountcollectiveframing there too.
The process of working with Mount has been very impressive. The time and craftsmanship that Joe puts into everything he does is second to none.
He looked at an old frame I had and set about perfecting and refining the design. Emily spent hours in search of the right hinges and clasps.

What we now have is a very fine and understated piece to house my little creations.

This piece “Forever Yours” is currently on display @fromehardware and available on my website

The frame is made to hang on the wall but looks equally good standing proudly on a shelf.

One day I’d like a whole wall-full of them.

🤍

An amulet, a talisman armoured with emotion and soul.

Stitched by hand, they carry the stories of life and everyday moments, aswell as the dreams and imaginings of far away lands. I like the weight and feel of a fabric that has lived before. I love rich embellishment and the
texture of clusters of beads and crystals woven together...
No two pieces will ever be the same. And that’s the joy of it.

Currently available to view in person as part of our Stitch and Solder Pop Up @fromehardware (Tues - Saturday 11th July 10-4)

As my work has physical layers it means overseeing every part of the final process collaborating with framers to produce the framework which I then hand finish myself
•
So lucky to have the considerable talents of @mountcollectiveframing under the same roof @sunnyhillstudiosbruton
•
Lucky also to have this new series of work getting so much attention at @tap_art_gallery
•
It’s not easy out there but with the right kind of support on every level
you can produce and deliver
