Just watched the @joerogan x @hubermanlab podcast.

We talk a lot about nervous system regulation now—breathwork, cold plunges, HRV, dopamine, meditation, trauma, all of it.

But I think we’re missing a big piece.

Everybody wants to down regulate.
but we do need the physical up regulation for this to happen.

Because the real world doesn’t care that you did breathwork this morning. You still have to deal with the hard conversation, the work stress, the injury, the workout, the relationship, the thing you keep avoiding.

Breathwork is powerful. Awareness is powerful.

But then you have to move.

You have to learn how to breathe while you’re under stress. Find where you hold your breath. Find where your body checks out, overthinks, protects, or just goes through the motions.

Not just calm yourself down for 20 minutes.

Build a body that feels safe being strong. One that can handle stress, express, adapt, and recover.

Sometimes you don’t need another protocol.

Sometimes you need to pick up something heavy, breathe through it, and stop negotiating with yourself.

@joerogan @hubermanlab — let’s have this conversation.

Tag them if you want to hear me talk movement, pain, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and why we need to stop separating the body from the mind.

Last week in our @moved_academy coaches’ chat I made the mistake of asking everyone for their favorite quad exercises.

I have a hard time getting neural output to my left one most days will which keep me a little twisted if I don’t fix it.

It escalated into @rarebarracuda making an 8-week quad buster block. Today was day 1.

If you’re wondering, the “Entry Protocol” involved four 100 METER sandbag carries into squats. That was the “warm up.”

But I can’t say I regret it and these quads need some WORK. Can’t wait to talk more shit in the chat as we all kill our own egos. IYKYK
