Golf is hard enough without making it harder on yourself.

One bad shot and you’re changing your swing. One new tip and you’re changing the plan. Then you judge the whole round against the best golf you’ve ever played.

Sound familiar?

These are eight things we see golfers get caught up in at TDA. Understanding them can save you a lot of frustration, and help you spend your practice time on what actually matters for you.

Recognise yourself in a few of these? You’re not alone.

Follow @tda_golf for clear explanations and practical drills you can take to the range.

It’s not always a swing problem.

In this example, if your trail elbow keeps getting out behind you at the top, limited shoulder mobility could be part of the reason.

Max shows a simple stretch that can help improve the mobility needed to get the trail arm into a better position.

Part 2 coming: stretching isn’t enough.

Went to the island, swam in cold water, ate homemade cake, made a wish on a tree, & watched old home videos 🌟 Had so much fun I forgot to be nervous about turning 30. It’s pretty great so far, I like it here!

Early extension isn’t always just a matter of trying harder to “stay in posture.”

If you struggle to rotate into your lead hip, your body may find another way to create room. For some golfers, that means the pelvis moves toward the golf ball and the body starts to stand up.

This is a good example of why the swing fault you see isn’t always the root cause.
