Tomorrow I enter into my 5th month of achilles rehab🩼‼️

Not going to lie; this journey has attempted to break my spirit. I feel like a shell of the person I used to be most days.

From 2 surgeries 6 months apart .. relearning how to walk (low-key just exist), while trying to run and keep growing my business, a long-distance relationship, be there for my friends and family and honestly show up for myself in a body I no longer know that can no longer do the thing that brought me joy.

I thought the journey was low-key over after I was off crutches, but honestly, that’s where the real work begins. Not just rebuilding what was lost but also trying to keep my mental positive.

I know this is just a season and I won’t always feel like this because one thing about me is I don’t stay down long.

God has really sustained your girl. From the love of friends family, my medical recovery team, my church community.. i’ve been prayed over and loved on .

I don’t know why this happened to me while I feel like I was in the height of my career and athleticism it low-key feels so cruel😅… BUT

I know when I come out of this thing, my character is about to be so refined. I know to myself I’ll be unrecognizable!

I’m a really good hustler for that external stuff but the internal stuff… Your girl needs some work and IS working!

I’m Learning: Patience ( I thought I had that before, but this is next level)

I’m Learning : Who am I when everything I thought made me get stripped away?

I’m Learning : To ask for help I can’t do everything alone.

I’m Learning : To rely on God like never before, because I literally can’t do this in my own strength.

And lastly I feel like my empathy has grown so much. I feel so much more present and in the moment with whoever I’m interacting with because we all have a story and we all have some challenge that were facing and sometimes people just need to know that they’re loved and heard.

So I as enter in my 5th month i’m not exactly where I had hoped I would be but I’m moving in the right direction and as I always say “ The comeback will have to be studied”😤💪🏾✨❤️.

Guess I’ll try growing my hair long next year🤣✂️💁🏾‍♀️.

I initially was going to grow out my color and my layers, but then I was like why do that if I can just cut it off?😝.

My girl @moxie.studios1 is probably the only person I would trust to do this to my hair!!!!

She has been holding me down all year with all of my color and trims!! She is also a natural hair specialist so my curls have stayed in tact with every impulsive move I make😅

When I told her I wanted a bob and to tone down my hair
babyyyyyy did my girl DELIVER!!!!!!

I kid you not I was in the chair, smiling and squealing from ear to ear for like 15 minutes. I literally almost forgot I was in crutches, and I couldn’t walk.🤣.

I’ve always wanted a blunt cut. With all the changes I’ve done over the years I can’t believe I’ve never done it.

I’m super excited to grow this hair out in all of its fullness and glory.

Sometimes in order to grow you, just gotta cut it off baby💋

I loveeeee to switch up. I don’t just have one look I’m out here shape shifting 😝💅🏽.

Not only does @moxie.studios1 know how to color, she also specializes in natural hair alongside her hair cutting game is next level. The best layers I’ve ever had in my life!!

I genuinely did not have to put heat on my hair for three weeks when I got it done by her because the layers ATE ok!!!

That’s such a rare combo to find. But that’s why I will forever be going back for all of my hair coloring needs!

My curls are still popping despite the color and I have no heat damage from my silk press!

Booking with a professional changes, the game for the quality and health of your hair alongside taking care of it outside of the salon .
