🎶 WE TOOK OUR JUDGES TO FUNKY TOWN! 🪩🤘🏼

An enormous thank you to our stellar 2026 Battle Season Final judging panel:

🎸 Brian Canham – Pseudo Echo
🔥 Cash Savage – Cash Savage and the Last Drinks / Board Member, Music Victoria
⚡ Mozë – Artist
🎹 Dr Simon Chatfield – PBOB alumnus and three-peat champion with Parental As Anything.

Thanks again for your time, insights, thoughtful feedback and for getting right into the spirit of Battle Night!

Joining the crew in this fabulous shot are our PBOB Chair and judge wrangler, Hannah Lawson, and our Battle MC, Jeff Wortman.

An extra shoutout to Brian and Raquel for generously providing two tickets to a Pseudo Echo show for one lucky winner of our Fan Favourite vote. We greatly appreciate it! 😍

And when you’ve got the man behind Funky Town on your judging panel, the soundtrack pretty much chooses itself. 😉🪩

The sounds behind Kimi Runna…

This project was essentially built to create a space where various artists could come together, be creative in their own right and add their flavour to a collective. Meet those behind the scenes that have brought Kimi Runna to life.

@steviejean_official is the wonder behind Ekho. Stevie’s captivating presence has earned her acclaim on Australia’s festival circuits and supporting some of the countries biggest acts.

@kphydes is the gruff, yet soothing flow behind Arlow. KP Hydes’ is one of the countries most versatile rappers. Mixing wicked bravado with effortless vulnerability.

@harpmiles.music sits behind Kimi Runna. The talented composer has been quietly refining his craft behind the scenes. Observing and learning. Now it’s time to share that with the world.

@louismontgomerymusic has helped shape some of Australia’s biggest albums. Working with the likes of SAFIA on their ARIA nominated LP, ‘Internal’.

@mozemusic_ is the soulful voice of her characters namesake. MOZË was a recent winner of Smirnoff & Live Nation’s Future Fresh comp and showcased at BIGSOUND 2025

Last month, I spent time on the other side of the world in Aulus-les-Bains, France, on a music residency at @camp_fr 💕 Our cohort was blessed to be mentored by the absolutely mind blowing Loraine James @setfiretoloraine to learn about live performance :,)

We swam in waterfalls, took field recordings, walked in the mountains, spent time experimenting with sounds, discovered new music together and chased dogs around the beautiful residency lol 🥹🫶 Aulus-Les-Bains has a fascinating history, where syphilis patients used to visit the thermal baths in the hopes that the healing waters and natural beauty would cure their syphilis….. And women used to hike up the mountains to collect large lumps of ice, to give to their husbands to sell in the village lol

While completely delirious from jet lag loool, so so grateful to have been able to learn from the phenomenal and incredibly generous Loraine, and from all of our lovely, inspiring cohort, @polonakasal @insolvnsea @louismorgan.wav @san_huan_ @falloverfourleafclovers @thisiskatelim @mozemusic_ @kevin_frieden @silvergrn @bronamartin @stillunknowndelma @zoozamusic @__jsq__ @louisemarieelizabe @stelloid + Klaus!! :,)
❤️😭 j’adore and miss you all ~ thank you for such a special time. I love learning together. Endless blessings and swag!!!!! xx

Last year we released our debut album! 🫶

The week we finished recording, we invited our friends around to sing on the final track & show them what we had been dedicating so much of our time towards.

It was really special to hear some of our favourite people singing these songs & being able to include them on our first full length album.

I found this video today and it reminded me how lucky I am to have so many beautiful & creative friends!

The output is good but nothing compares to the process. Kimi Runna was a slow build, with so many people involved from near and far. From airports, cafes, studios, park benches, late night phone calls and more. We’ve built this together and we’re only just getting started.
