Duty free shops are great for international travelers, but what a terrible disappointment for domestic travelers . . . All you can do is stare through the glass 😰.

However, once in a while you will either get a friend who travels internationally, or you get to. In this case, I was introduced to Dark Storm by @boosted_v6. I enjoyed it so much I was sure to get another bottle when I finally got to Europe a couple years ago.

The legs are REALLY long on this one, the liquid just sticks to the side of the glass. The nose is fresh bread, with bright floral and grassy notes and a little worn leather. The palate is warm and crisp with almonds and Brazil nuts, notes of chocolate and pears.

The finish is very long with coffee, raisins and dried fruit. If you can get it, pick it up.

So I'll ask, what is your dram? Scotch, bourbon, doesn't matter, what makes you smile?

Another thing to remember is that whiskey tasting is very personal. Each person's palate is different. Not wrong, just different. I hope to hear from you as we enjoy the 'water of life' together.
