Tuesday mics. No Helium mic tonight folks. I think it's back next week.

The music is from @falcon_heart_ who I've had the pleasure of seeing a few times and the most recent I snagged this cool photo.

Don't pursue happiness, create it.

It was a long day but I got some great b-roll along with a little dialogue. I'll post some photos and reels tomorrow that I got, me so tired right now.

Snagged this delectable cowboy photo from the Yamhill Pub - YAMS open mic. I filmed a lot of good stuff there tonight and at Shanny's.

I'm excited about the footage and the momentum that's building. I will share more tomorrow about that.

Its Wednesday and that means it's time to spit some words out and see if we can get some laughs.

I needed some therapy and did a magazine cover to get some flow state in.

Photo is Grant Leavitt - @grantleavittcomedy at Showcase Showdown in McMinnville by @lensssay_photography in November 2025.

Grant just competed in Helium's Portland’s Funniest Person and I placed him third, but he missed minimum time by five seconds. Great set!

Grant was also one of two comedians at my first mic in 2023. Time flies.

We had some fun yesterday at a stripped down showcase.

No sizzle, all steak.

Didn't get a ton of photos and videos but enough to show you how we showed up and these comedians killed it. Jamey was there to support Dan but she grabbed the mic and lit up the Ricochet crowd and I got one b-roll of it thankfully for the social media beast we trying to feed.

How fun! Thanks for everyone who came out. Comedians, staff, and audience!

Here are some fantastic photos from the Showcase Showdown at Mattie's Room in McMenamins Hotel Oregon on June 26, 2026.

I was producing and hosting while the badass @lensssay_photography was behind a lens snapping these. Thank you!

We had a fun night, congratulations again to Tony.

A new batch of comedian photos for the @mpdxcomedy site. It is a great scroll from a mobile device.

This was the first night after getting an LED delivered that day!

Ash - @ashallencomedy won and went on to win at the Winners' Showcase in November 2025. She is an outstanding comedian and storyteller.

This was an awesome night. We had to drag in more seats to accommodate folks. Zane threw down a set and then rapped. Everyone killed.

It was also the last time I had show at Ricochet - @ricochetwine . C'est la vie.

More great black and whites at the end.

I'm working on the website for Misfit PDX Comedy and in a lot of ways it's the people I've documented so far over the last almost three years in the scene.

Kind of nuts.

Also so effing cool to be a part of this.

This was from an annual showcase showcase showdown we host on the patio at Carlton Winemakers Studio - @carlton_winemakers_studio in September pretty much at the same time as harvest. Last year there were a lot of harvest folks wrapping up at the same time as us after a 14-15 hour grueling workday, no doubt. It's a grind in the wine biz sometimes.

I'll try to post more as I complete these and add to the Misfit PDX website.

It was a hot one last Seven Eleven and I remember this showdown. It was hot and it was a banger in the room at Ricochet - @ricochetwine which was configured and lit so well it felt like a live-filmed show before a wine-barrel-room-surrounded audience.

One of a kind vibes.

Polished and professional PNW comedians in the open mic scene that is one of the best in the country. Full stop.

This was the same show that had that iconic (to me) photo in black & white. This version is cropped for this post. Sorry.

The video from Allen - @allenjtyler is also pretty awesome from this show. All things in due course! I'm just one person working nights and weekends!
