I once read, “Eddie McClintock has done more pilots than a stewardess!”
I laughed through the tears. 😭😜🤷🏻‍♂️
Again, such an amazing group to work with.
This was my fourth network show before finally landing on #Warehouse13.

A shared birthday lunch with this wonderful guy, @mpennette ! His two days ago on the 9th and mine in two days on the 13th, so we met in the middle! He hired me in 1997 to do an episode of his show Caroline in the City (which thankfully turned into nine episodes), and we’ve been friends ever since. Just shy of 30 years. Crazy the passage of time. Grateful for all of it.

(To sing his praises since he won’t, he’s had and worked on many fantastic shows since and recently received a Tony nomination for writing the book for Death Becomes Her on Broadway. If you missed it in NY, the national tour is happening soon. Much more to come, Marco!)

It’s not lost on us that we’re losing Death Becomes Her right before the end of Pride! The show, which plays to the current and old guard fandoms of Broadway, has been a go-to for lovers of the craft since its early days in Chicago! We bid farewell to the comfort show, the critical darling and the TikTok juggernaut, which is/was Death Becomes Her!

Show: Death Becomes Her
Song: “For the Gaze”

Death Becomes Her is a musical, with a book by Marco Pennette and music and lyrics by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey. It is based on the 1992 film of the same name directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis. It made its world premiere in May 2024 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, and moved to Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in November 2024. The cast featured Megan Hilty as Madeline, Jennifer Simard as Helen, Christopher Sieber as Ernest,
Josh Lamon as Stefan, Madeline’s long-suffer assistant, Michelle Williams as Viola Van Horn, a character originally named Lisle von Rhuman and Taurean Everett, as Chagall, Viola’s number 2. On January 16, 2026, Betsy Wolfe joined the replacing Megan Hilty. The show will play its final Broadway performance today, June 28, 2026, after 27 previews and 666 regular performances.

The original Chicago and Broadway productions received critical acclaim by theatre critics, for its score, book, production design, stunts, special effects, and humor with both Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard receiving universal praise for their comedic timing, chemistry, and performances. In their respective reviews, Deadline Hollywood (Greg Evans) and The New York Times (Jesse Green) both lauded the drama and tension between Simard's and Hilty's characters. Evans said the two women "are perfectly paired", while Green said that "the chance to see two theatrical masterminds go at it for a few hours" compensated for what he saw as the shortcomings of the original film. It received a leading 10 nominations at the 78th Tony Awards and won for Best Costume Design in a Musical.

Enjoy!

@bwolfepack does it all for the gays (and everyone else in the audience, and all the folks in suburban New Jersey, who can hear her belt, but especially the front row) as she steps into the role of Madeleine Ashton in the hysterically funny all glitz, all glamour, all singing, and dancing musical 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘳. I have been a tremendous fan of Betsy's since I saw her (with Lindsay Mendez as one of Sherie Renee Scott's Mennonettes) in 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘙𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. Her range in the musical theater is ... well, everything. She soars when given lots of singing and a comedic lady like her Tony-nominated Anne in &𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘵, and Cordelia in the wonderful 2016 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘴. She makes Madeline her own, perhaps boring a smidgeon of Megan Hilty's original, which intern was borrowed from Meryl Streep's iconic screen performance. But Wolfe's seemingly much more vain, a once regal red carpet fixture, and an over the top almost childlike washed up entertainer. She hits it out of the park. Co-stars @thejennifersimard and @christopher_sieber Sieber have found a delicious chemistry with Wolf and are fantastic in their opening night roles that they seem to have made them richer, more humorous and vocally perfect since spending over a year with Helen and Dr. Ernest Melville. On as Violet Van Horn, a spectacular force: @simonewithanx singing each of her songs like Shirley Bassey singing 007 songs from the swinging 60's and her sexy, seductive sorceress owned the stage whenever she was slinking around.I laughed out loud for 2 1/2 hours and boy laughter is the best medicine. Go see death becomes her or go back if you've seen it, you will be transported away from our fragile and frightening world. A fantastic and ferociously fun- trip you'll be grateful you left reality outside if only for a few hours. 🧞 I hadn't noticed how poignant the 'Til Death' reprise is. For journeyman actor Sieber, each night alone on the vast Fontanne stage, a moment of tribute to so many who were on stages through the theater district and lost their lives to the AIDS crisis. Written intentionally or not… It is a beautiful moment for Broadway and Sieber I'd imagine

My amazing Birthday card and Birthday cake my dad hand painted for me. I bloody love it, despite my dad getting the quote slightly wrong… I’ll let him off because it’s perfect! He clearly knows me so well! 💜
