A few years ago, a pregnant pittie was found. She quickly gathered some great individuals in her corner and was named Sunny, as she’s just a ray of sunshine. I was asked to help find her rescue. You may remember me posting about her back around the time when that lurcher (FKA Socks) showed up at the farm we were renting. Of course at the time, there were a ton of people interested in Socks but not in the pittie mama. Thankfully a wonderful foster stepped up, and my incredible friend, Christine, got her to be taken in by a rescue. Sunny had her adorable pups, was the best mom, and watched them all get adopted as she continued to wait for her happily ever after.

I had the pleasure of spending some time w Sunny again recently, and to say I’m smitten is an understatement. She’s the kind of dog that just makes you smile and feel good. Sunny has done really well w kids, can be skeptical of men (same, girl, same), says no thanks to cats (too fun to chase!) and has shown to be capable of having dog friends when appropriately matched and overseen by those savvy in dog-to-dog communication. Sunny has enough confidence and love to easily be the only pet in home, as she would thrive as queen of the castle.

Sunny is middle age, has fun energy but also loves to chill and get all the pets, does beautifully in a crate, is house broken, knows basic cues, and has a smile for days. I often joke that I’m going to adopt her bc I just love her so much. But Sunny deserves to be the center of someone’s world. She is available for adoption through @chicagolanddogrescue and would make the absolute best friend.

Shout out to all the exceptional humans that formed Team Sunny. Thank you to Christine and CDR for saying yes to Sunny and caring for her all this time. Thank you to @boujee_pups_accessories_ for gifting Luna this pretty pink collar that we constantly use for pics. And of course to our girl Stevie @poodle_and_a_pitbull for letting us borrow the tutu.

Please share. Let’s get this gorgeous girl home. 💖

My sweet momma, Sunny☀️
This girl will be looking for a foster home or forever home as soon as her babies are gone! She is great with women, loves kids (girls) and does well with men after warming up to them. She does still need to be dog and cat tested! Please help find her a home after being such a good momma to her current litter and prob another before them!
