As we prepare for the release of our second @chorusofcourage album, we are filled with beautiful memories of the first Chorus of Courage retreat. Storytellers, songwriters and facilitators met in the stunning @thelimberlostforest where they spent a meaningful week connecting, sharing and creating. We want to express our gratitude for all of the folks who made the first Chorus of Courage experience so special. 💭What is an Indigenous Healing Circle, and how can culturally grounded approaches support healing for Indigenous survivors of trauma and gender-based violence?

🗓️Join us this Friday at 12 PM for our next SAPM Lunch & Learn conversation featuring Lauren Power from Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services.

Together, we’ll explore Indigenous Healing Circles, culturally relevant trauma-healing practices, and the importance of community, culture, and connection in supporting healing journeys for Indigenous communities.

These conversations are part of our May SAPM Lunch & Learn Series — short 15–30 minute discussions focused on sexual violence prevention, accountability, supporting survivors, and community responses.

Had a great day delivering two high school talks at Bracebridge, Ontario, including my session on: ‘Speaking In a Language of Consent’. Thank you to @mpssas1

We talked about consent as a part of our everyday interactions, not just at certain intimate moments. Consent isn’t a lock you try to pick, it’s a way to try and live life, including with a romantic or intimate partner.

We also talked about what a strong ‘yes’ and ‘no’ look, sound and feel like. We also discussed how a soft yes or no are quite similar… and we talked about that last piece of pizza. 🍕

Did you know....
In Canada - 43% of Indigenous women have been sexually assaulted by the age of 15.
In Canada - 63% of Indigenous Women will experience some form of violence in their lifetime.
Indigenous women face disproportionately high rates of violence in this country, rooted in systemic issues.
Existing services often have significant funding and accessibility gaps.

“This event will show case 11 prize winning ribbon skirts which depict the stories of White Buffalo Calf Woman (Lakota), and Deer Woman (Anishinaabeg), as well as fashions from multiple Indigenous and Afro Indigenous designers, drumming, spoken word poetry, knowledge sharing and consuming some wonderful cultural foods and mocktails at the ROM.

Funds we raise will support Indigenous/Afro-Indigenous programming for survivors of violence.”

@trccmwar, @taibuchc, and @mpssas1 will be hosting a fundraising gala centred on Indigenous survivors at the Royal Ontario Museum on Saturday, February 28, 2026!

Inspired by the sacred teachings of White Buffalo Calf Woman, this Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous led fundraising gala will bring together survivors, youth, Elders, advocates, and allies in a shared space of healing and celebration.

After months of quiet creation, reflection, and community building, we are grateful to share that Chorus of Courage is returning for a second round — a new chapter of music, advocacy, and collective healing.

Thanks to the support of the @canada.council we gathered once again with an incredible group of artists, survivors, and collaborators to deepen the conversations that began during our first album, Always By Your Side 💜

Nine new songs were born this year from our time together at @thelimberlostforest , recorded at the @thebathousekingston studio, and produced by our amazing musical leader @sarahmacdougallmusic ! This round includes familiar faces and inspiring new ones, extending the circle and the dialogue.

We’ll be sharing pieces of the process over the next weeks and months: behind-the-scenes moments captured by our wonderful photographer @jensquiresphotographer & reflections from artists, and the road toward our first single in early 2026.

Thank you for walking with us. Thank you to all the voices that continue to join our community.

🚐✨Bringing Wellness Where It's Needed Most ✨🚐

In it's first year, the Mobile Youth Wellness Hub has connected with nearly 600 youth across Muskoka, delivering vital mental health, wellness, education, and cultural supports, right in the heart of the communities that need it most.

💬One youth's story says it all:
What began as a moment of fear, pregnant, without housing or income, transformed into a journey of courage and connection. Through the Hub, she found not just care, but compassion. A nurse practitioner became her anchor, and a community of organizations rallied around her. Despite language barriers and urgent needs, housing was secured, prenatal care provided, and her baby was welcomed into a home filled with hope.

This is what happens when advocacy, compassion, and collaboration come together.
This is what transformation looks like.
This is the Mobile Youth Wellness Hub. 💛
