In 2021 @thecocacolaco replaced refillable glass bottles in Samoa with single-use plastic. The islands have not got recycling capacity and now they are filling with avoidable plastic pollution.

@grippingfilms made this film for @londonhulaori @oceana and other Pasifika environmental advocates - a letter directly to the polluter, Samoan🇼🇸 style. Instead of being fast-paced and attention-grabbing to cut through the feeds it is calm and polite, we know the people who need to see it will see it. This meant we could keep it long and give the space to respect the work of all the artists who contributed and their culture.

Here’s a highlight/trailer of the TM101 Taligamalo Training Video, which was officially launched on 17 March 2026 at Lava Hotel. This training video was developed as a resource for the tourism sector.

This initiative was made possible through collaboration with the Government of New Zealand, New Zealand High Commission in Samoa under the Samoa Tourism Recovery and Resilience Program, with valued support from Taumeasina Island Resort, LAVA Hotel Samoa, Tanoa Hotels, and Orator Hotel Samoa.

Samoa Tourism Authority extends its sincere appreciation to mentors Lilomaiava Flo Saaga, Tu’u Fu’a Hazelman, and Tertia Ryan, who facilitated and shaped the Taligamalo Framework/ TM101 Taligamalo course, recognized by the Samoa Qualifications Authority - SQA.

A special shoutout to our main cast, including former Miss Samoa and Miss Pacific Islands, Litara Ieremia-Allan, alongside Robyn Cormack, Iosefa Domingo Enari, Lupeoletalalelei Tipi, David Kyan Stowers, and Caydon Stowers.

We also acknowledge MP Studio Samoa for their production of the video, as well as Peseta Robert Ah-Sam and the Training Unit, Sheena Ng Lam-Stowers, Faith Taralita Laban , and Christian Tito who worked behind the scenes to develop, facilitate, and direct the Taligamalo Training Video.

Big fa’amalo tele lava to all partners and contributors for their dedication to achieving this milestone for Samoa’s tourism development.

Women are the sacred covenant of our families, villages and nation. In the words of the late Aiono Dr. Fana’afi Le Tagaloa “Women are wealth makers, healers, peacemakers.” This documentary is a tribute to the countless women whose legacy continues to inspire. May their legacies live on through us and the next generation of Tama’ita’i Samoa.

Full documentary premieres September 2025. Produced by the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development. Supported by the Government of Australia & UNICEF Pacific.

First time in Samoa was so special 🇼🇸

What a blessing this trip was. After years of disruption (Tsunamis, Covid etc) something had always gotten in the way of me getting to come to Samoa. But God’s timing is always perfect as I was blessed with the opportunity to travel over & represent with my balas. Was such a blessing finally meeting my family in Samoa and being where my Father & his family call home. Fa’afeti lava to everyone involved in the tour, will cherish these moments forever.

Mo aiga uma I Samoa. Alofa tele mo outou, Le Atua lo tatou va, toe feiloai i Manu. 💙
