My baby girl, I am SO incredibly proud of you! 🥹💖
Watching you stand before the entire Marion P. Thomas Charter School (MPTCS) village of more than 200 staff members as the 2026–2027 Convocation Keynote Speaker was such a beautiful and unforgettable moment. You did an AMAZING job with your speech, and watching you shine with confidence, purpose, and grace made my heart so full.

A very special shoutout to Superintendent Mincy, Sankofa Academy, the MPTCS Family Engagement Council, and the entire MPTCS Village for creating spaces where our children and families can be celebrated, empowered, and inspired. ❤️

And to my baby girl—keep using your voice, keep walking in your purpose, and keep shining! You were born to inspire, and today you reminded everyone in that room just how powerful your voice can be.

My girl did THAT! 🥹👏🏽💖🎤
Mommy is beyond proud of you! ❤️

Thank you @superintendentmincy for giving my girl this wonderful opportunity and allowing her to shine. 🙏🏽✨ We are so grateful! #ittakesavillage❤️ #mptcs #keepshining☀️

I am so proud of our MPTCS Village! The steady progress that we’ve made in a short period of time is a testament to the hard work and collective efficacy of our teachers, support staff, leaders, families, and of course our amazing scholars. This work is HARD, but a labor of love like no other. #Lovemycity #ReimaginingtheVillage! 💙💛

It was a privilege to be invited to @mptcs_highschool for its graduation ceremony. Felt amazing meeting and taking pictures with the graduates. Showing up as motivation for the next generation is mandatory & I’m honored to represent my city. Congratulations to all the classes of 2026 the world is yours 🫡❤️
Special thanks to Ms.Toni and the rest of the school board 🙏🏾

Graduation season is here, and I can’t help but feel pumped seeing so many bright young stars crush their academic goals!

Just yesterday, I had the amazing honor of being the keynote speaker at the awesome @mptcs_highschool Marion P. Thomas Charter School in Newark, Essex County. The energy in that room was absolutely electric!

I had the chance to share a few words of encouragement, reminding these incredible graduates that all they really need is hope. With hope on their side, there’s no telling how far they can go. So here’s to the future—let’s chase those dreams and make them a reality! Congrats, graduates! 🎉

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Team ABC facilitated our very first Council Person for the Day. We hosted students from @mptcs_highschool. We coordinated a tour of City Hall after breakfast, including the Office of @mayorbaraka. After our civics class and local government workshop, the students were treated to conversations with Chief of Staff @amiri_middy_baraka , Council President @imwithlarrycrump , Councilman @councilmancouncil ,and Deputy Mayor @rocknwk. After lunch the students sat in on a Newark Municipal Council Meeting, and then spoke with and took photos with the council members. The students had a lot of great questions for me and were very engaged. I absolutely loved our conversations! We had a great day together ❤️. Special thanks to the students, faculty and staff of @careers_mptcs. Thank you @lionessdiva , @toluinmotion, @mememack and @salimut for all of your hard work in coordinating this wonderful event for our youth. Looking forward to the next session.

On behalf of Nassan’s Place we would like to thank Principal Silvestre, Shahidah Dunbar, the Marion P. Together, we raised over $1K in support of our partnership with Nassan’s Place and to promote Autism Awareness. Your generosity and commitment continue to make a difference in our community.
