This past week was one of the hardest weeks I’ve experienced as an entrepreneur.

We didn’t officially confirm Taste of Soul until October 6th, less than two weeks before the event. From that moment, it was nonstop! Every day brought another obstacle, budget adjustments, last-minute decisions, and challenges we had to figure out along the way.

Between production, merchandise, branding, staffing, and putting together our 20-foot booth, I went into Saturday on just ONE HOUR of sleep. 😩

This was our first major outdoor vending experience with @bbhlemonade. I’ve been doing clothing with @blackbeverlyhills for years, but this was a different challenge.

Seeing our booth finally come together was an amazing feeling. It showed me the possibilities for our future, and we haven’t even brought out our food cart yet! 🍋

We did well, but I also overproduced. I was stressed about sales the entire time. That’s entrepreneurship. You take risks, learn lessons, make adjustments, and keep pushing.

Attendance at this year’s Taste of Soul also seemed lower than usual. And with the continued fighting and violence involving our youth, we need to do better as a community. Our young people need more mentorship, positive direction, and opportunities. Events like Taste of Soul should bring us together to celebrate our culture, support Black-owned businesses, and strengthen our neighborhoods.

Despite everything, we made new customers, built valuable connections, and received so much love.

Special thanks to my bro and business partner @djletthemknow , who went above and beyond this week, and everyone else who helped bring this vision to life. None of this happens alone! 🙏🏾

Now it’s back to the grind. More stores, more distribution, more outdoor vending, and more growth.

Business will test you mentally, physically, and financially. But one event doesn’t define your journey.

Sometimes you win. Sometimes you learn. Sometimes you do both.

NEVER GIVE UP. Stay consistent and keep building.

We’re just getting started. 💚🍋

🚨 THE 2,000 TEXT MESSAGES MAY BE THE BIGGEST REASONABLE-DOUBT ISSUE IN THE LIL DURK TRIAL — AND THE JURY SHOULD’VE BEEN ABLE TO REVIEW VONNIE’S TESTIMONY FOR THEMSELVES. ⚖️

Today the Government got the LAST WORD, but this exchange is sitting right there in the record:

Drew Findling confronted Vonnie about being told there were 2,000 TEXT MESSAGES bearing his name. When Findling pressed him about who told him, Vonnie’s answers shifted:

“So you were lying?”

Vonnie responded: “I didn’t say who. I said ‘he.’”

Then: “Could have been my attorney telling me. I really don’t recall the conversation.”

🔥 THIS IS WHY THE TRANSCRIPT MATTERS.

Judge Fitzgerald’s ruling prejudiced the Defense’s ability to put Vonnie’s actual transcript testimony before the jurors for their review. Instead of the jury being able to go back, READ these exchanges and compare Vonnie’s own words, the Defense was restricted in how it could use specific transcript statements.

And Vonnie is CENTRAL to the Government’s theory.

If Durk commissioned Vonnie to organize the Blackshear, Georgia shooting and the August 2022 operation targeting Quando Rondo, where is the DIRECT Durk ↔ Vonnie communication among those 2,000+ messages?

Where’s the text ordering it?
Where’s the DM?
Where’s the recorded call?
Where’s “put it together” in writing?

The Government wants the jury to build a conspiracy from circumstantial and cumulative evidence while the Defense was blocked from giving jurors the very transcripts containing critical impeachment of its cooperating witness.

THE TRANSCRIPT IS THE RECORD. THE JURY SHOULD’VE BEEN ALLOWED TO SEE IT.

That’s not some Trap Lore Ross YouTube breakdown. 😭

A MAN’S FREEDOM IS ON THE LINE.

And when credibility is THIS important, preventing the jury from independently reviewing Vonnie’s testimony is exactly the type of ruling the Defense can argue caused prejudice. ⚖️🔥
