Little mic problems today, but the Panther dads’ voices were loud enough to be heard! And of course, they had some good words to share! 🐾📣

Happy heavenly birthday, Daddy! Today I’ve shed some tears, but in many ways it feels like a holiday for a great man🥹!!!

These are pictures from Daddy’s 70th. We always celebrated him, but this particular year his request was to be surrounded by his family, and my Mama’s cooking😉! We also surprised him with his college roommate, who brought matching Colorado letterman‘s jackets.

More than any accomplishment Daddy received, he was most proud of his family, always referencing us as his true legacy!! Today we celebrate you Daddy… Your smile was infectious and your love for us was a profound gift! You will live on in each of us, and I’m so thankful for your consistent presence, sacrifice and example🙏🏽 #77 #60 #foots #legacy #heavenlybirthday🕊 #imsothankful #grateful

@askewnic told these kids during Howard U swim camp that your "marketability is in your versatility." Don't just stick to the 50's and 100's. Well, Kelise Tripp tried the 200 breast again and dropped 15 seconds from her last attempt and took 1st place (Girls 11-12) She added a 1st place finish in the 50 free (Girls 11-12) as a bonus! It has taken me over 3 weeks to do this recap video of our visit to my Dad’s alma mater The University of Colorado. There was a finality that I wasn’t emotionally ready for, but in honor of my Father today I am:

My Dad was Colorado’s first black football captain and he was so very proud of Deion’s accomplishments as one of CU’s few black head coaches. The University and Coach Prime honored my Dad in a magnificent way: My mother (with us standing behind her ) was a honorary Captain for the coin toss in honor of a great day in CU’s history! In the 1969 Liberty Bowl against Alabama, my Dad went out to midfield for the coin toss, while a still-segregated Alabama sent FORTY players to intimidate him (actual footage in my family highlights)! Daddy showed strength, resilience, courage and fight in the face of hatred from the crowd and opposing players! CU went on to be the 1969 Liberty Bowl Champions in a decisive 44-33 win.

Dad’s resilience was seen throughout his life in how he loved people, God and most of all his family! We will continue to live our lives in honor of his great legacy.

Thank you @deionsanders @cuboulder @cubuffsfootball #gobuffs🦬 #60 #collins #legacy #family

Last weekend my family had the amazing opportunity to go to @cuboulder to honor my Papa, Bill Collins, at his alma mater 🖤💛

He was the first African American tri-captain of CU football. They went on to play in the 1969 Liberty Bowl against Alabama. My papa went out to midfield for the coin toss, while a still-segregated Alabama sent 40 players to intimidate him. My papa showed strength, resilience, courage and fight in the face of hatred from the crowd and opposing players, and they went on to be the 1969 Liberty Bowl Champions in a decisive 44-33 victory.

He was an undeniable light and force wherever he was placed. A servant-leader and an atmosphere shifter. He made everyone around him better. The very same characteristics he showed that day made him the man we knew all of his life. The life and legacy we have the God-given privilege of continuing. My beautiful Gammy went to midfield last weekend and honored her sweet Bill & we were overjoyed to witness it. We love & miss you forever Papa #60 🕊️🙏🏽🤍♾️ - Big Granddaughter

Shoutout uncle Prime @deionsanders and @cubuffsfootball 🙏🏽🖤 view the last slide to see the tribute video played at the game

Over the weekend my family and I had the privilege in honoring my grandpa at the Colorado vs Delaware game. My papa, Bill Collins was the first African American captain of Colorado in 1969. They went on to play in the Liberty Bowl against Alabama. Pre game, my papa went up for the coin toss, and with Alabama still being segregated sent FORTY white players to intimidate my papa. My papa showed strength, resilience, and courage that day and they went on to be the 1969 Liberty Bowl Champions. And he also showed those three attributes during his fight with Cancer. So glad we got to celebrate you “Foots” and long live 60 forever💛🖤

A glimpse of the strength of my Father’s legacy:

The last couple of weeks I have felt the greatest heartbreak and grief with the loss of one of the wisest and most gentle men I will ever know!

On this new journey our family has cried, laughed, reminisced, worshiped, celebrated, and honored the love of a life well lived.

My Father: A man of intentional sacrifice & compassion for his family, people and God, is now in heavenly peace with his parents and brother.

I have felt God’s love and grace holding my hand as I feel the many wave of emotions….

This pain is great because my love for Daddy is even greater!!!!

Honored to be his daughter… humbled to have been cared for, loved and directed by William E. Collins Sr.

Daddy your legacy lives…

Song: Simple Things by @onehousemusic Through my tears it has been on repeat… thank you for this healing gift🙏🏽
