We’ve been a bit quiet over here, wintering in our shed! Tidying up, making Teapots for other people, and planning for the summer. The days are getting longer, if not dryer, and we are gradually coming out of hibernation to sing and play! 🎵🎶

Next weekend a whole bunch of Magic Teapot musicians will take over the Tiger Tavern in Tunbridge Wells for a big jam and singalong, the first of the year! All invited, hope you can solids splash your way to the pub and see you there! Yay! 🤠

Introducing The Band Members: @mr.eugene1 Mr.Eugene has fiddled his way around cultures and countries: with Irish roots to collecting experiences in places such as Galway, Berlin, New Orleans, Seville & San Francisco. Now based in the UK his virtuosic improvisation on fiddle & mandolin reflects the energy of his travels.

He’s played in bands like What’s Left of the Whiskey, Blunt Instruments & Under the Gun, collaborated with artists such as Mark Chadwick of the Levellers and the Dead Reds. Mr.Eugene has previously flirted with Punk, Psychedelia & Folk-Rock, but can put his heart and soul into country music, including his own powerful compositions on guitar and vocals, which are a unique mix of fun, seriousness and accessibility!

Eugene has enjoyed teaching music too: after an MA in Music & Sonic Media (from Sussex Uni) he continued with post grad studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire on the course ‘Teaching Musician’. His technical and sound knowledge has been shaped by a wide range of performance & support work at venues ranging from 1000 seat theatre (eg The Hawth) to Devon fields! (The Common Players). There have been some interesting organisations involved too, such as Theatre Alibi (Devon), Der Haus Der Kulturen Der Welt (Berlin), and more recently youth theatre work with Peer Productions (Woking).

Recordings include a solo CD (The whine of life), in the duo Clear Waters (Clear Waters live), as well as other guest appearances on various recordings, most recently with Gregg McKella (Songs from the Underground). The next exciting recordings, already in the pipeline, will be with Country Ties! Links:

Country Ties would like to thank @emanuela_hutter and her band for giving us the opportunity to showcase what we do by supporting their night. We also like to thank those who enjoyed our set and everyone who made the night feel special. We are grateful and we cannot wait for what this year has to offer. Dear big Tom 🤎 A whole year you’ve been gone. You’ve been so missed at all the festivals and all the jams but you’ve been there in all the songs, in all our hearts. 🤎

A collection of clips from some magical musical moments with him plus some videos from the best send off for our friend. Thanks for the memories lovely man. X

Thank you @innitcom Jessy Marlow for putting together an amazing fundraising event for Alkham Horses! We played a sold out show and we even got to have a little go on a horse simulator too. 😉
