POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

4 years ago, this was just an idea. People mocked me. Told me it would never work.

The app you see today didn’t look anything like this in the early stages — it went through several different versions before I landed on what it is now. Along the way I had to pivot the whole business model too: started out sourcing from pro athletes’ closets, ended up building a peer-to-peer marketplace instead. Had a potential partner lined up, then made the strategic and calculated decision to learn how to build the whole thing myself instead.

Deep down, I was intimidated — it felt like this whole thing was slipping through my hands. But I had to face the fear of how people would view me, and dedicate the time and energy to learning how to pick up the pieces in front of me. I thought about just paying someone to build it — but the calculated move was learning it myself, so I could speak about my own business like I actually owned it. That decision forced me to understand every single aspect of it, top to bottom. Best thing that could’ve happened to me.

I took that idea to Utah for All-Star Weekend in 2023 — no funding, no team, just an MVP and a reason to network. I took it to Tulsa in 2024 for the BetaBlox startup competition, still building it with my own two hands.

To the ones who’ve been rocking with this since it was just an idea -y’all saw it before it was anything. This one’s for you too.

Penthouse Thrift is real now. Not an idea. Not a “we’ll see.” Real.
