Some names are spoken with admiration. Others are spoken with reverence.

Marvin Gatling was more than a martial artist — he was a builder of discipline, a guardian of tradition, and the originator of Marvin’s Toy. His influence didn’t stop at techniques or training sessions; it lived in the lives he shaped, the principles he instilled, and the generations he prepared.

Michael Wright speaks not as an observer, but as a student who trained under Master Marvin for over a decade. What you’re hearing in this clip isn’t secondhand history — it’s lived experience, earned wisdom, and firsthand insight into the power of true mastery.

This is how legacy survives time. Through those who carry the lessons forward, who move with purpose, and who understand that real power is discipline, character, and service. Master Marvin’s influence is still present — in the hands, minds, and hearts of those he trained
