🇺🇸 WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE WORLD STOPPED TURNING… THAT SEPTEMBER DAY? I remember exactly where I was on September 11, 2001. I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., which I was scheduled to run the following month. That morning, after completing a 17-mile training run, I had a scheduled call with my client—the Pentagon—to discuss the parameters of an upcoming training program for members of the military who were finishing their years of service. I called the number at the Pentagon. A recording came on: “This line is no longer in service.” I remember thinking, That’s crazy. What is going on? But you know me? On to the next call. I then called the Athletic Director’s office at the University of Georgia. I was scheduled to speak there the following evening, September 12, to the freshman athletes. That’s when the secretary told me the news. “Out country’s under attack” I turned on the television… And watched in disbelief as the second tower came down. Like millions of Americans, I knew at that moment that our world had changed forever. Twenty-five years later, I can still remember that morning—the phone calls, the confusion, the shock, and the overwhelming realization of what was happening. Today, I remember the lives that were lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the men and women who answered the call to serve our country in the years that followed. September 11, 2001. We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸 #September11 #NeverForget #PatriotDay #911Remembrance #September11th UnitedWeStand HonorAndRemember marinecorpsmarathon thebaerlife
