S U M M E R .

As Summer is nearing its end...I can't help but reminisce on the HIGHLIGHT of my 2024 thus far: taking a "Mommy & Me" trip with my middle child to the BEAUTFUL island of Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷

There were MANY "firsts" for both of us, making this trip & time together something we both needed & will NEVER forget 🥹

2024 has been a TOUGH year. My children & I have had to endure one of our toughest storms as a family & by the grace of God we are FINALLY seeing the light at the end of this dark tunnel.

To be able to escape for a few days & embark on an adventure was truly a GIFT.

We want to thank the RESILIENT ppl of PR for their hospitality, love, & care for us!
I want to thank my friend @joel_jones_30 for making sure we had someone to reach out to if we needed to.
I want to thank @dauche for pouring into Amyah & I in such a major way (not even knowing what we were going through this year...but simply because she's THAT much of an Angel who truly is God's love in human form).
I want to thank @blakbuttaflie & @caresalynnett for ALWAYS encouraging me & for rooting for us to take this trip 🥹🫶🏾

From the music...THE FOOD...the beautiful town of Loíza FULL of Black culture, history, people, & art...the hospitality of World-Renowned Artist Señor Samuel Lind (he invited us into his HOME/ART STUDIO for a tour, a chat, & beautifully affirmed my little Artist & I in the most unforgettable ways 🥹)...the DELICIOUS lunch & hospitality we were blessed with at El Buren De Lula in Loíza...the beaches... @low_countrysfinest37 saving Amyah's life TWICE in that rainforest 😭😅...& the architecture of Old San Juan.....I'm SO GRATEFUL we made this trip happen.

It would've been easy to cancel this trip, considering what we were going thru...the weight of it all has been indescribable.
But we CHOSE our happiness.
And the opportunity to choose felt like a nod from God & Spirit that we've navigated this season well & deserved a moment to rest, restore, & remember how much WE ARE LOVED by God & our village.

Choosing love. Choosing to stay in the light.
Thank y'all for rocking with me. - Mia 💜✨️
