Train me! Mr.Relative's short film turns a familiar phrase about AI into a single, uncomfortable image. It opens in a bare, ploughed field under a pale blue sky. A man in a white shirt and tie leans forward, hauling a wooden office desk through the dirt like an old farm plough, while a second man sits at the desk typing on a beige computer as if nothing were unusual. A few seconds later the roles have shifted. A rusted, scrap-metal robot is now dragging the desk, and the two men are face down in the soil. The caption is just two words, and it leaves the reading open. Are the humans training the machine, or is the machine being trained to replace the people who once carried the weight? Either way, the field becomes a quiet metaphor for office work, automation and who ends up pulling whom. Mr.Relative is an artist with more than 500K followers, the founder of @the_relative_gallery , and sells fine art prints of his AI work. Mr. Relative makes AI art about people in crowds. In 2026 he took his series This is Humanity from Instagram to the Saatchi Gallery. He has worked on the series since late 2021 and posts new loops most days. For his longer films he lists the tools himself: Nano Banana Pro for stills, Veo, Kling and Seedance for animation, Suno for music, CapCut and Topaz to finish. In June he opened The Relative Gallery in western Poland, and in September he showed at DIGITALISM at the British Art Fair in London. @mr_relative_ has one material most artists don’t use, and it’s people. In the reel on the cover, thousands of bodies stack into the curl of Hokusai’s wave and hold there for seven seconds, shoulders and arms standing in for foam. After that the crowd keeps changing jobs. It runs in rivers along white banks. It rolls over in fog as a sphere of bodies, every one of them stretched flat and reaching. It climbs a black ring until the ring is mostly climbers, and it piles up in the surf like driftwood. The ongoing series is called This Is Humanity, and the artist describes the practice as sitting “between art, technology and human psychology.” The captions give the crowd its lines: “We make waves.” “We are just a frequency.” “Press anything to join.” The rest mostly ask you to give it a title. This year the work left the phone, with a showing at DIGITALISM during the British Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery and the opening of The Relative Gallery in a restored barn in western Poland. BRITISH ART FAIR 2026 Saatchi Gallery, London DIGITALISM, third edition four small screens and three framed prints. most of them went home with people, which is the part I didn't expect. the work comes out of what I call non-prompting: minimal instruction, then choosing from what comes back. the choosing is the work. thank you @rebekahtolleydigitalist for building this exhibit, @odessoart for the curation and for being who you are, @mr_relative_ for being such a mentsch, and @the_relative_gallery for the booth, and thank you to the four other artists I shared it with: @avarello_virtualarts , @lottevont , @tarainabstract and @matthew_morpheus Most of all thank you to everyone who showed interest and took a moment to chat, despite the lack of air on the top floor. Londyn. Saatchi Gallery. British Art Fair. Miejsce, w którym klasyczny język sztuki spotyka się dziś z nowymi mediami: obrazem cyfrowym, video i AI. I właśnie tutaj ponownie spotkałem Kamila, @mr_relative_ Poznaliśmy się kilka lat temu na drugim końcu świata. Dziś Kamil prezentuje swoje prace w Londynie, konsekwentnie rozwijając własny, bardzo charakterystyczny język wizualny. To sztuka, która nie traktuje technologii jako efektu. Technologia jest tu medium. Na pierwszym planie pozostaje człowiek: jego zachowania, relacje, lęki, konsumpcja, wpływ otoczenia i pytanie o kierunek, w którym zmierza współczesne społeczeństwo. Jego prace mają coś, co w sztuce cenię szczególnie: własną narrację i natychmiast rozpoznawalną estetykę. Nie są tylko atrakcyjnym obrazem. Zatrzymują. Budują napięcie. Prowokują do interpretacji. AI, grafika cyfrowa i moving image nie są już marginesem rynku sztuki. Stają się kolejnym językiem współczesnej twórczości. Ale samo narzędzie nie tworzy artysty. Potrzebne są lata pracy, eksperymentowania, ciekawość i konsekwencja w budowaniu własnego idiomu. I chyba właśnie to najbardziej było widać podczas naszego spotkania. Za momentem w galerii zawsze stoi znacznie dłuższa historia pracy, której publiczność nie widzi. Kamil, ogromny szacunek. Dobrze było spotkać się ponownie właśnie tutaj.
