The past couple of months have been pretty surreal.

First, I came across some of my recipes in a book written by @michaelmadrusan and partner @zaramadrusan some of the most talented people in the game. Then @attaboy134 dropped a new version of their Bartender’s Choice app, and it had me thinking back to how much I used it to study, learning other people’s recipes because it felt so important to learn from great bartenders.

Now, seeing my own recipes in that same app, alongside some of the most talented bartenders out there is a pretty wild, full-circle moment. I’m not saying I’m one of them, but I’m grateful to see something I created show up in a tool that’s been part of my career for so long.

It’s been a whole ass decade since I started with @lil_ch_world 😳 to go from the Wild West that was @eldoradobar to the wonderfully chaotic @craft_commerce has been a crazy ride and I can honestly say I wouldn’t trade any of it. I am who I am today because of all the beautiful humans I’ve met along the way thanks to the CH community and beyond. Cheers! 🫶🏻

I’ve been a little quiet about this as I try to figure out the words to express how I feel. After almost 4 years I am leaving the Train. My journey with B&S and @centurygrandphx has been an adventurous one. I’m thankful for the growth it has provided me and all the lessons I was able to receive from this company and the individuals involved. All of the mentors I’ve had, give me gratitude. All of the accomplishments we made, give me pride. All of the friendships I’ve made, give me love.

I still have the voicemail @bevwizardjax left me saved on my phone about coming in for my initial interview. I’m thankful a thousand times over that he and @asher52 took a chance on me. I started in prep and had so many fun days singing in the kitchen with @karimr10 and can hear him shout “Take it away Ricky!” Then fast forward to barbacking and getting to know the beautiful monster that was Platform 18. Never had a seen a program move so gracefully yet so precise. Then moving to server as I really got to share my gift of hospitality that I knew I had while balancing it with flowing at the speed of the train. Finally, coming into my own as a bartender and learning to be an anchor and a leader within a team. I really couldn’t have learned that without @not_your_barmaid and her challenging me to be better every day. This journey, this era and all its ups and downs, I wouldn’t trade for the world. It’s made me the person I am today and I am so grateful for that.

I put together moments from over the years of some fun memories. I can’t thank everyone that has impacted me because there have been so many people but please know I really am thankful. My last shifts are this weekend 1/23, 1/24, 1/25. I would love to be able to give everyone one last moment of hospitality in this space that has been my home for so long. So, please come on by if you can and let’s make it a proper send off! 🚂
