My visual interpretation of “Thousand Faces” by Talha Anjum, the opening track from TROUBLESOME ’96. 🖤

@talhahanjum
@jokhaay
@umairmusicxx

Talha Anjum’s raw delivery over Umair’s production felt like the perfect soundtrack for that idea. So I tried to translate that feeling into a visual, not just illustrating the track, but creating my own interpretation of its world.

Thousand Faces — Talha Anjum × Umair
TROUBLESOME ’96

TROUBLESOME ’96.
The title is more than just a name. It is a nod to 2Pac’s “Troublesome ’96” — a song from Pac’s most turbulent and influential period, released posthumously on Greatest Hits. And that reference feels intentional. Because 1996 was the year that defined the end of Pac’s story. Thirty years later, Talha Anjum takes the same title and gives it a completely different life — Karachi instead of California, Urdu instead of English, his own struggles instead of Pac’s. That is what makes TROUBLESOME ’96 interesting. It doesn't feel like Anjum trying to become 2Pac. It feels like an artist acknowledging the rapper who helped shape the language of vulnerability, anger, survival and rebellion in hip-hop — and then asking: What does that spirit sound like here?

In Karachi.
In Urdu.
In 2026.

The “Troublesome” part feels like the mindset — the refusal to become comfortable, the paranoia, the ambition, the loyalty, the ego, the people you outgrow and the people you carry with you. And the “’96” becomes a bridge between two eras.

Pac’s ’96.
Anjum’s 2026.

Different cities. Different generations. Different stories. But the same idea: turning everything that made you troublesome into the reason you survived.**

My take on the track. 🎞️
