Hello, Friends! The news is out and I'm confirming that after 35 years of hand-crafting world-class, award-winning beers, CBC will be closing in December. My Brew Team and I are looking forward to new challenges and opportunities, and our Fearless Leader and Founder, Phil "Brewdaddy" Bannatyne, is ready to retire. Finally!

From humble beginnings in 1989 CBC literally changed the landscape of Craft Beer locally and nationally, bringing awareness to classic beer styles, obscure ones, and a few cool ones we invented ourselves. It's been an incredible honor to have had the opportunity to work with my friend Phil for 32 years (holy smokes!), and I am eternally grateful for the faith he put in my artistic drive and in the creative force that is the Brewing Team at CBC.

But the success of CBC depended on more than creative energy. Success came from the support we received in our earliest days from people walking in the door and asking, "What do you mean you're making beer here?" and grabbing a seat, later to the folks who said "That sounds really interesting, I'll try that!" and on to the current craft beer customer who, in the most awesome way, now expects a broad range of well crafted beer options to be available at all times.

Brewing in our little fully manual, direct fired, 10-barrel brewpub is back-breaking work (sometimes literally!), and I won't lie and say we aren't a little bit exhausted. In the coming months, I'll have more thoughts to share, but right now I'm simply grateful. Grateful for the coworkers who have become friends, for the customers who have become family, and for the Brewers who have come through the door eager for a place to start and then gone on to amazing careers of their own. It's humbling to look at the CBC Brewers' Family Tree. I am proud to have led such a genuinely wacky, fun, committed, and driven group.

We're still brewing here! Plenty of cool new beers and CBC Classics are waiting for their turn on tap before we go. I hope you'll make every effort to come by before our last day of service on December 20th. In fact, I hope you all come by A LOT. And then, I'll take a little break.

Thanks and Cheers,
Will
