🎶 "Tell me how you're feeling" Well...I was feeling hella rejuvenated from this 2.5 hour blissful experience! 🥰🔮 Also, been wanting to take Tali's class for a whiiillleee, so glad I was able to finally make it 🫶🏾 (even though work almost sabotaged my whole day, anyway forget that one 😤😅) I didn't even realise we pretty much danced to the entire song lol...so here's just a part of it. 🧠 @tali_1301 🎶 @mrnajiboy - Tell me #idontbepostingbutwebemoving #rememberyourwhy #aintdancebeautiful #onetoremember

There’s a fine line between a band and a collective. In the latter, group members can freely come and go as they please while still maintaining a stake in the creative vision. 🌀 While most collectives are fleeting, since most members end up pursuing solo careers, their musical legacy remains solid long after their last tracks have been laid. I’ve come across a few collectives — established and new to the scene alike — which caught my ear and might please yours too. A quick rundown of the groups in this series: 1. CHROMA - Texas-based Chicano hip-hop trio which fuses alt-rap, house, and indie pop into a dizzying delight. 2. seeyousoon - Florida supergroup that stretches the hip-hop genre limits with high energy beats and bars (ironically they haven’t dropped anything new since 2021). 3. 99 Neighbors - Vermont’s indie and alternative rap group played their last show ever in 2023, but their hype discography lives on. 4. Play Nice - This collective of artists and friends are the gift that keeps on giving. Prepare for soulful R&B vocals and boom bap flows aplenty. 5. Mutant Academy - Led by Richmond emcees @flyanakin and @bigkahunaog and their inner circle of friends, MA is keeping the spirit of ‘90s New York rap alive. Pretty much everyone has gone solo, but they still collaborate often. 6. Standing on the Corner - This Brooklyn-based experimental jazz group weaves abstract hip-hop, free jazz, lo-fi indie rock, salsa, and many other genre scraps into their avant-garde quilt. 7. Fievel Is Glauque - Multi-instrumentalist Zach Phillips and singer @ma__clement craft alluring, texturally rich jazz pieces with a rotating roster of musicians. 8. Ezra Collective - The Mercury Prize-winning jazz ensemble create thumping, brassy grooves that will instantly have you up on your feet dancing. Playlist 🔗 in bio.
