POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Join us at our campaign launch, led by DRUM youth, to learn how to fight back against shock gloves!

Immigrant families are being targeted by ICE, and we cannot sit and wait for a tragedy to happen.

Sunday, November 8 3-5pm
RSVP for location

We are calling on Gov. Hochul and state representatives to protect immigrant families and New Yorkers by proactively stopping the use of “shock gloves” by U.S. Immigration and Customs (ICE) agents and all Department of Homeland Security (DHS) immigration enforcement agents.

Our loved ones should be able to pick up their kids from school and go to work without fear of being stopped and electrocuted to death by ICE’s latest barbaric weapon.

📚 Schools can and should be a safe, supportive and inclusive place for all, where ICE is not welcome.

As reports of ICE agents near and around schools increase, we remain committed not to let this administration's cruel deportation agenda interfere with our young people’s futures and their families.

We can protect and defend each other. Be prepared by accessing #KnowYourRights info at: weprotectusny.org or comment “protect” and we’ll DM you the link.

🎒📚This Saturday, the weather couldn’t stop our annual Back-to-School Bash Block Party at Bushwick Campus Community School.

We gave students and their families a warm welcome as they celebrated the start of a new school year by offering information, fun activities and school supplies.

Every year, this event is designed to help students and families navigate the school year ahead and connect them to community resources, including #KnowYourRights materials, access to health services, college access programs, and more.

We were also joined by Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso (@bkbpreynoso) who quoted Biggie Smalls "Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way."

¡Sí se puede!

“We’re here to support our base and let voters know they have nothing to be afraid of. We are here to support you,” proudly said our youth leader, Jax.

The federal government is attempting to suppress voter turnout by instilling fear in our communities. We won’t let it happen. That’s why we’re joining the Long Island Votes coalition to ensure community members know their rights as voters and have safe access to the ballot.

Along with the coalition, we remain committed to providing trainings and resources to ensure that voters know their rights when they head to the polls.

#Throwback to our 2026 Youth Summer Program! 🫰

As our young people head back to school, we’re reminiscing on the amazing time we had in community this summer. From heading to Virginia for the People’s Convention, to a poetry workshop and even a rally against Big Tech, our youth leaders continue to show up for each other and our immigrant communities.

We’re confident they’ll take the skills they learned and connections they built with them in this new school year!

🎓The NY DREAM Act is under attack!

For more than a decade, youth advocates fought to pass the NY DREAM Act. This bill allows all in-state students to access financial aid in order to attend college. Now the Trump administration is suing 17 states, including New York, for enacting this hard fought victory.

Learn more about our fight for the DREAM Act from our youth leader, Dulce.

Here’s another behind the scenes look at one of our current Making Policy Public collaborations:

Make the Road NY (@maketheroadny) and design team Lunch Special (@lunchspecial_) are creating a guide that explains young people's rights when interacting with police and ICE at school.

The team has held two bilingual community sessions where they got feedback on early drafts from twenty young people from Staten Island, Queens, and Brooklyn. In a few weeks, they'll have their last community session before they get ready to send it to print!

“The truth is that our neighborhoods, our schools, our hospitals, they are much safer when we do not have ICE present and when we do not have our local police acting like ICE agents,” says Jax, our youth leader from Long Island.

Following pressure from advocates and Long Islanders, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman agrees to comply with the 287(g) agreement ban in Nassau County. Across New York State, this ban prohibits local law enforcement from entering into official agreements with ICE or the Department of Homeland Security.
