Just 2 weeks until we are back @thriveballater and we can’t wait!

We have been at Thrive since the very beginning and are so stoked to see the line up of exhibitors and partners for this year!

We will have our stall in the village for social meet ups, ride outs and trail chat with our traditional Heartbreak Ridge maintenance session happening out on the hill on Saturday morning! If you’d like to get involved sign up on our website!

If you can’t join this dig there’s a full calendar coming up over autumn/winter and loads of opportunities to support or make small donations to help our volunteer effort.

Can’t wait to see lots of you in Ballater!

This week on ‘Meet The Team’ we have Richard!

If you’ve ever wondered how so many bike brands ended up at Thrive, there’s a good chance Richard had something to do with it.

As owner of @cyclehighlands , Richard has been one of Thrive’s biggest champions from the very beginning. He helped spread the word throughout the bike industry, encouraged brands to get involved, and even convinced a few fellow local bike shops to come along for the ride.

Richard is also the mastermind behind the weekends demo bikes. Every year, along with his much better half, Liz, they somehow manage to coordinate a huge fleet of demo bikes from a wide range of brands, giving visitors the chance to test ride some incredible bikes throughout the weekend.

Behind the scenes, he’s also helped secure support and opportunities that have played an important role in helping Thrive grow.

From making introductions to making things happen, Richard has been instrumental in helping Thrive become what it is today. We’re incredibly grateful to have him on the team.

Thanks, Richard!

Random Rich fact… his terry cloth nappy went to the top of Mt Everest! 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay… we’ve officially had enough of this weather now. 🌧️😂
(it’s only been a week but hey.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ we’re over it!)

So we’re choosing to look ahead instead… longer evenings, dry trails, post-ride coffees, (or beers) good people, and all the Thrive vibes we’ve been missing. ☀️🚴‍♀️

Here’s hoping the sun comes back soon!

Who else is ready for some solid ride weather again?!

The annual Cycle Highlands demo weekend is on!

We're here offering free fitting and sealant on all Vittoria tyres and Air-Liners bought from the shop, and to talk about all things rubber!

The sun is shining in beautiful Ballater, so come see us and demo a shiny new bike on some of the best trails in the country!

And that’s that.

3(ish) days of riding the big, mad Ghost Poacha through Aberdeenshire.

Serious kudos to all the trail builders up there. I rode Tarland, Ballater and Aboyne - each one very different. Some of the best trails in Scotland have been put together with Deliverance at Aboyne being a new personal favourite.

Thanks to Dean and Jake from Madison / DT Swiss and Vittoria for helping me get the Poacha back on the trails. Also, thanks to the team at Cycle Highlands for giving me a picnic table to hang out at and some trail advice.

Back to normality tomorrow!
