Race debrief by @mrshannahspence

The wife had tracked my race so gave me her verdict of the race.

Sled Push = Not bad
Sled Pull = Smashed it
BBJ = You should be fast, yours close to the ground…
Wall Balls = Yeah, you was a bit shit there

I tell you what, she’s pretty accurate with her expert hyrox knowledge there 😂

Standing on the podium will never get old.

It’s reward for all the early mornings, double training days and committing to getting better at the process.

Anyone else’s wife have a love/hate relationship with Hyrox because of your obsession? I know @mrshannahspence does 😂 but couldn’t do it without her.

I appreciate the love & l the hate you give my Hyrox obsession 😘

Cardiff Pro Solo Debut – 1:03:49 ✅

Chuffed with my first run out in the Pro category.

7 months into this endurance game now, and I’m loving the process of learning, improving and trying to be better each time I race.

Honestly, this is probably the most satisfied I’ve been after a race. The stations I knew would cost me time did exactly that but that just gives me clear areas to improve.

That’s the beauty of stepping up… you find out where you’re really at.

Safe to say the running corners were interesting… Torvill & Dean would’ve felt right at home on that bloody ice rink.

Round 1 done.
Back tomorrow night for Pro Doubles

March Madness

What a crazy month.

Hyrox Pro doubles, Gladiators semi final & final, CrossFit open, Hyrox London and I threw a pro solos sim in for good measure.

Life is for living and making memories with those you love.

Packed so much in and wouldn’t change one thing.

GLADIATORS SERIES 3 2026

I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced everything over the past few months.

Despite the result, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Huge congratulations to @joshmcdonald_6 on being crowned Gladiators Champion, when it mattered most, you delivered.

Finishing second has genuinely made me a far better athlete than I was before. Enjoy it mate 👏🏻

@emily_bell135 , what can I say? So deserving. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone like you. Unreal. @nai.yo.me , such an inspiration and fully deserved your place in that final.

To my wife @mrshannahspence , I owe you one 😅

The endless Gladiators replays and organising everything behind the scenes, I genuinely couldn’t have done this without you.

To my friends and family, thank you.

From the support in the arena, the banners and the last-minute trips to Sheffield, it means more than you know.

To everyone at the BBC, Hungry Bear and the whole Gladiators team, you’ve been incredible.

From day one in Sheffield to the final, I’ve had a smile on my face the whole time.

To the contenders, what a ride.

Fitness brought us together and that’s something special. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to go through it with.

And the Glads… you took a beating this series 😅

What a show.

At the end of the day, I’m just a lad from Wigan who loves training, and it’s taken me to some unreal places.

For now… over and out ✌️

Hyrox London Olympia

When you catch your wife and biggest supporter cheering you on it’s hard not to smile.

Could have easily lost my head on the sled push but the constant encouragement from @mrshannahspence got my head back in the game.

Realistically that mistake has probably cost me 45-60 seconds which could cost me a podium.

We live and we learn, I’ll be using lollipop sticks moving forward for counting 😂

Huge congratulations to @shaunstephen_1 it was a tough battle and one for the record books. You smashed it mate🤝

A huge thank you to TEAM JOSH 💙 being out there on the floor in the arena can be a very scary place. So to look into the crown and see you all really got me through 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
