Feb. 12 marks a day that represents multiple “starts” for me. 1) it is Winona’s birthday (her first). She is a gift from God. She is a masterpiece. She is so loved. I love you so much my sweet daughter 2) it is also my parents anniversary (43 years). They have shown love, commitment, and have made my life “luckier” by having them as my models! Give a little toast to Feb 12 tonight!

First, I did not realize I could be more in love and more impressed with @jessclarke_ but after the last 48 hours my heart has exploded for her and our new baby girl. Winona (Winnie for short if she’s ok with it) Elane Higgins was born at 2:53 am on 2/12. Words still are hard for me, I won’t accurately articulate what just happened. But for the last 2 mornings I wake up feeling like it was a dream, reminding myself of the blessings of Jesus, then looking over to see Jessica and Winona and being mentally reunited with the truth that I am a dad and a husband and that we are a family. Life starts again for us, a new chapter we enter into, and so many moments of lacking the words but feeling God inspired love.

In one of my favorite events of all time I had a special group today! Today I had the honor of playing in the @hiltongrandvacations tournament of champions with @lpga_tour super stars and the world’s most talented and handsome bachelor! Ps: Jessica is happy and healthy and I’ll be going home Sunday to welcome the baby girl into this world in just a few short weeks! #hgvlpga

Long caption, but some life news: 14 years ago @humanityandhope started. As a result for 14 years @humanityandhope has been a top 3 priority in my life. This is due to the work they do and the people they work for. For 9 years I’ve been gifted the opportunity to sit on the board of directors and help in the small ways I could. Countless laughs, tears, sweat, and joy have been created in this country that Jesus placed in my life as a teenager. This last week I went to Honduras for the last time as a board member of @humanityandhope. I will always support H&H, and still make as many trips down to see the friends I’ve met over the years. However the organization is in a great place and there is a team of staff, volunteers, and board members that are able to take it far beyond where it is now. It is time for me to step aside and focus on other things like my new baby coming in Feb, @generous_coffee_ , and also another organization that I joined the board of 3 years ago called @projecthopeorg . My focus will change but my gratitude towards Jesus for allowing me to spend so much of this one life I live working with @humanityandhope and the country of Honduras will forever be in my heart. It’s made me a better man, better friend, and also better follower of our savior Jesus. Now onto the next chapter!
