Never Summer 100k 2026 — 1st OA in 11:51:28

WHAT WAS THAT?

Sometimes when nothing goes to plan, everything goes right.

From my knee barely allowing me to run in the two weeks leading into the race, to nausea for the entire day and heat that had me worried about heatstroke from mile 25 onward, nothing seemed to work in my favor. Yet somehow, through all of that, I crossed the line just 12 minutes off the course record.

When it's all said and done, the result doesn't matter. The time is irrelevant. It's the experience that stays with you. I’m mostly just grateful to be racing. Grateful for the ability to push my body to its limit. Grateful that running creates such an incredible community and has brought so many amazing people into my life. Everyone who was out there that day continues to inspire me.

I'd like to give a special shoutout to a few people. First, Russell for running his first 100-miler. I was lucky enough to pace part of that journey, and watching him finish is honestly what got me excited and motivated for this race. Second, Mason and Liv, who both absolutely smashed their races. Seeing my friends do hard things is incredibly motivating. They are the guys that motivate me the most to find and push my limits.

Huge thanks to my parents for being an incredible crew. The water dousing and nutrition handoffs were incredible, and the encouragement to keep moving when I so desperately wanted to stop. There was nothing I wanted more at mile 58 than to stop and quit. But the encouragement from them (and aid station volunteers) is what got me to the finish line.

And thank you to Gnar Runners for continuing to put on some of the best events around. It's so cool to have such an amazing race organization right here in Northern Colorado. And thanks to all the volunteers who put the race on you guys are all amazing.

Never Summer, I'll be back. I’ve got a record I'd like to set but more importantly I’m looking forward to frolicking around in these hills again.

High Lonesome 100 - 25:13 - 11OA 9M

No better place to get my first 100 mile finish than in the Sawatch. The course was brutal, but the rugged beauty of the mountains and the great runners and volunteers made the miles go by just a little bit faster.

Running 100 miles is a team sport. I wouldn’t have made it to the finish without my pacers, @mrwignall and @evan_chris3. My crew chief (and dad) @a.j.wolfe followed me around the mountains for 25 hours, and got me out of aid stations in several crucial moments.

Huge thanks to @alpine_runner and @highlonesome100 for putting on one of the finest races in America, and bringing me along for the ride. I’ll be back on this course as soon as I can.

2025: Year in review.

The year I relearned that racing should be fun. Plus, a lil snippet into some of the other stuff I found myself doing this year.

My legs have more milage than my car this year, with 2,578 miles ran and then the rest ridden. (819 miles ran in November and December alone just a lil sneak peek for what's to come....)

Lil racing recap because why not.
Pilot Hill 25K — 2nd overall: Last minute sign-up with no expectations. My training had been very spotty but ended up having a decent day out in the heat on some very fun and flowy trails.
Foco Fondo (118-mile) — 32nd overall: First ever bike race! One week after spending a month 9k feet and without access to a bike (or heat training) then panic training the week of and getting 20 hrs of volume in the 5 days preceding the event. Died 1000 deaths out there both due to my in ability to fuel and the 100 plus degree temps.
Cirque Series – Arapahoe Basin — 21st overall: Not the result I came for but I learned a lot about my training and what worked and even more importantly what didn’t. Lost a lot of time on the descent which is very atypical of me.
Red Bull Out Run The Lift — 12th overall: Another last-minute signup. Ran this off of residual fitness from the summer alpine block. The race was run in waves and I won my wave by about a minute.
Grassroots Gravel (113-mile) — 21st overall: Some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike. 2 week bike block leading into the race then just fully sent it. I made a bunch of tactical mistakes which meant I spent most of the day solo but over 17 mph avg with 8k of climbing just makes for an awesome day.
CSU Homecoming 5K — 5th overall: Really just for fun to see what would happen off of no speed training.

Looking forward to 2026 my calendar is looking very exciting. For the first time I am going all in on running. This unfortunately means no bike racing. But what I will say is that I may be bringing my very aggressive and sendy racing style to the ultra world…

Always take the best of a situation -2025

This is the biggest thing I’ve learned this past year on and off the bike.

I am grateful for time spent with family, friends, and people I never met before this year. You all inspire me so much to do good.

I cannot wait to see what more I’ve got starting tomorrow. #2026 #bike
