While thinking of a caption for this post, I’ve been reflecting on my journey as a fashion designer and how far l’ve come. It all started 10 years ago when I was just in JSS3. My boss, @modior_kors , mentioned to my mum that I could come learn the craft for free. At the time, I wasn’t sure if it was what | wanted, but I went anyway. Why? Because I saw the “big girls” training there, and if they could learn tailoring, why couldn’t I? Her bright and talented younger sister, @cielle_kors , who was around my age, became my inspiration. She patiently taught me the basics and never gave up on me, even when I struggled. I love you always my omosi💗. I trained during school breaks and holidays until I finished secondary school and graduated from my training. I went to university with my sewing machine, sewing part-time. I couldn’t sew full-time then because my mum was serious about academics, and I didn’t want work to distract me from my grades. School always came first. After graduating with a second class upper in 2024, I finally dove into fashion full-time. Since then, it’s been all gas, no brakes-and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love being a fashion designer and will forever be grateful to my boss for taking a chance on that little girl from her neighborhood. Until now, she still supports me, hype me, comments on my posts. I will always love you mamas. You will forever be famous my love 💗. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way-my mum, who bought me my first sewing machine; my friends, family, clients, and everyone who has referred or patronized me The journey continues, and the best is yet to come. Here’s to growth, passion, and endless creativity.
