So thankful for this amazing summer. ☀️

I bought a house, spent time with the loves of my life (my kids & my best friends), visited Naples, FL, for the first time, danced with @wonderfromdownunda (my godson), celebrated our Blythe Speer, and enjoyed Ivey’s gluten-free pizza and her @drinksouthbound margaritas!

So much goodness.
Back to school for me on Tuesday. 📝

A blip of June 2026

824 Meridian St.

What a special project this has been over the past two years as we worked to bring new life to this building. It would have been way easier to tear down as it was in very bad shape after years of neglect. I just really loved the character and history of this house and knew it’d be way more important and fun to resurrect it.

I spent a ton of time thinking and talking with friends about the kinds of businesses that could call it home. More than anything, I hoped it would become a place that brought people together—a space for community, connection, and meaningful conversation.

I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. The new owner is an even better fit for this awesome East Nashville neighborhood than I ever imagined, and I will be so excited to see @thebookshopnashville open its doors! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I’m sooo looking forward to seeing how they finish the inside and add to the exterior spaces.

It’s rare when a space finds exactly the right steward, and this feels like one of those times. I can’t wait for all of us to walk in, browse the shelves, linger a little and enjoy everything this wonderful new addition will bring to our neighborhood. ❤️👏🏻📚☕️

Thanks to @dryden_studio for being an awesome partner and creating such a beautiful exterior. @jahitch Jason Hitchcock and Ross Ullrich, your talent is truly extraordinary. The creativity, vision, and attention to detail you brought to this project exceeded every expectation.

Thanks to Leeland Construction and their all their hard work on helping save this old historic home.

Thanks @klm12379 for jumping in with me and making it happen.

A little bit of life over the last 30ish days 💫✨

It’s Sunday, May 24th, 10:31 a.m. as I’m writing this. I woke up at 8:30 and casually lay in bed, catching up on social media because I now choose to find life-giving moments there. They are there. Sometimes you have to search, and sometimes they are waiting for you.

Then, because we’re on vacation, Ben snuck back into the room to see, hoping that I was finally up. Then it was time for coffee and a cream cheese danish. One childhood breakfast that still brings me joy. Sara Lee was how it all started, and now Publix fills in the gap.

Then I came to the couch at my family’s house in Florida to catch up on emails. We’ve been on vacation since last Monday, and between the whirlwind excitement of this particular week and the re-release of Testify to Love, it’s been the kind of vacation that makes you ask what day it is, because you’ve been lost in the rest and beauty of the time spent.

This vacation Sunday is not unlike most of my Sundays these past nine years.

Nine years ago, my Sundays looked like this: Wake up at 6:30 a.m. Grab coffee. Get ready in 30 minutes (after years of early call times for church services and concerts, I had my routine down to a science). Pick up donuts on the way from Krispy Kreme. Sound check and rehearsal for service at 7:45. First service at 9. Second service at 11. Lunch with a lot of the community at 12:45.

Home by 2:30. Exhausted.

Moments that held a lot of beauty, and plenty that held a lot of expectations.
