What a time at Boule! ✨

From celebrity sightings to sweet reunions with line sisters, church mothers I haven’t seen in nearly 24 years, former and current chapter members, cousins, and friends — it was pure joy. I laughed, I cried, I celebrated, I learned… and my roomies and I even got tattoos to mark the moment. 💛

As someone who supports women navigating grief — especially those who are used to pushing through and being everything for everyone — this was a beautiful reminder: **joy and grief can coexist.**

Making space for play, rest, and connection isn’t a luxury. It’s part of healing.

So tell me… what are you doing to make room for joy? 💫 #rozrelates #akaboule2026 #griefandjoy

The grand finale gala night at the BCon in Texas... From the customized mini mes, air kisses, hugs, exquisite attires, unique gifts, dramatic doll unveiling, to the hard good byes... exceptionally exhilarating! How are we going to adjust back to reality after such a fun filled week in our Barbie dreamland bubble? I heard some engage in therapy sessions once home to help with the adjustment. I bet some of us can't wait for a fast spin around the sun that'll take us back to the bubble, this time in Phoenix! I must congrat everyone who heeded my advice after a hard fought campaign 4 years ago for conventioneers to ditch the t-shirt and shorts for a glammed up look, at least on gala night. If you're going to match your doll's fashionista energy, make it count at the convention! Don't you just love how festively good we all look together! Yes, it takes a village! Cheers everyone!

Day 3 at the Barbie Convention yesterday... At the Mattel sponsored luncheon, we got a sneak peek at the yet to be released Barbie stamps. I managed to snap up a grail I'd been chasing for years from the sales room, and of course, a fun filled day commenced. We're just getting warmed up! My goodness, absolutely no rest for the wicked. More to come. 😎🎀🥂

Sweet Sixteen! Yes, I'm living vicariously through one of the most iconic ageless beauty in the universe! I got on the next thing smoking from NY to Florida to celebrate the 16th birthday of the one and only Poppy Parker by IntegrityToys, joined by my fellow doll artist family from around the world at our happy place. The one day affair was short but profoundly sweet. We certainly had a time! Congratulations to David Buttry! Until next year, happy holidays family and cheers to you Ms. Poppy! 🥂🙌😎🎉🎂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @theteacherinpink 🎂🩷🎂🩷🎂🩷 (I know it was yesterday but I still wanted to post!!!) I can’t believe how many amazing memories we shared that it was so hard to pick photos to post here🎀 You’re always my fashion show bestie, a mentor, and an inspiration in so many ways! You’re literally one of the best people I’ve ever met and I can’t tell you enough how much I love you even though we see each other once or twice in a year🩷🩷🩷

Lesson 2: What is Elegance?

There is something magical in the elegance of the Library Tea. Every year, we honor the tradition by inviting our guests to wear fascinators, gloves, and dresses—the classic tea attire that ties us to generations past.
This gathering of grace and beauty, highlighted by our signature pink and green, reminds us that elegance is more than an appearance—it’s in how we carry our history forward with love.
Thank you to @_4dvisuals for capturing these precious moments. #upliftourlocalcommunity #soaringwithaka #thelibrarytea

Lesson 1: Preserving History

Our journey of preserving history runs deep. In February, we gathered for a Preservation Event with the Black Heritage Society of Washington State @blackheritagesocietywa and The Seattle Public Library @seattlepubliclibrary

Together, we honored the importance of memory, resilience, and shared identity.

A heartfelt thank you to Stephanie Johnson Toliver, president of the Black Heritage Society, for teaching us the power of preservation and for sharing artifacts so dear to our chapter.

One of our greatest treasures? A letter from 1965, written by Shirley B. Wilcox, our first Library Tea Chair, expressing her gratitude for this event.
That gratitude lives on in all of us. 💚💗
