Today is my Angel’s birthday. Even though dementia stole my Grandma’s memory and she didn’t know who I/we were, it didn’t steal her spirit, her sense of humor or her relationship with God. She loved us even when she didn’t know who we were. I watch these videos and they make me laugh and smile. I even learned that she was a rapper and a poet. Whenever I see a butterfly I think of her. Happy Birthday in Memoriam and Infinite Love 💗👵🏽😇🦋

Nova Bella-Rose was diagnosed on June 4, 2019 with Bilateral Retinoblastoma which is eye cancer in both eyes at 5 months old. She underwent 9 rounds of chemotherapy and celebrated her end of chemo in March of 2019. From there she had continuous EUAs (exams under anesthesia) every 3 weeks that included burning and freezing of the tumors in the eye. On July 1, 2020 the doctor informed us the tumor in her left eye ruptured and the eye needed to be removed quickly. So on July 2, 2020 she had a total enucleation of the left eye. Her eye was gone!
Following that she had multiple MRIs, spinal fluid taps and bone marrow biopsies every 30 days to be sure cancer cells did not travel. And on September 3, 2020 her oncologist called telling us cancer cells traveled outside of the eye and they are in her bone marrow. So on 9/7/2020 we were admitted back to St Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN to fight another cancer at only 20 months olds. This will be a 5 month stay away from home with our love ones. The protocol she’s now on requires 4 months of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant that will take another month. Cancer is in her bone marrow and liver and our little baby girl is so blessed to have so many loving people praying for her! And we are appreciative of all the Love, Support and Prayers!

Our little doll should be at home playing in the backyard and playing with blocks and Barbies, not laying in the hospital room, incredibly sick as she battles for her life. And so we ask that she stay lifted up in your prayers!
