School leaders shouldn’t have to navigate recovery alone.

On September 24, Principal Recovery Network member and current Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Principal Michelle Kefford will join fellow school leaders in Parkland, Florida, for the release of the second edition of the Guide to Recovery.

Friends, families and community members are welcome to join us, too. Come hear directly from school leaders who have experienced tragedy firsthand and are sharing what they’ve learned to help others.

📅 Sept. 24
🕘 9–11 a.m. ET
📍 Parkland, FL + livestream

RSVP for the in-person event or tune in online. Link in bio.

Little actions with a huge impact! We are thrilled to announce that we donated 415 PB&J sandwiches to our community! 🥳

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our PB&J Sandwich Making Event today! We made 415 sandwiches which is way more than we expected to make. Thank you for helping us make an impact and feed the future! 🩷🩵💛 #MSDFeedingTheFuture

Background Information: On Thursday, November 13th, our DECA Advisor came across a post in our Community Facebook group asking for PB&J sandwiches to help support local charities. She shared it with us to see if we were interested, and by the next morning, we were in her classroom with a full plan. One week later, on November 20th, we transformed her classroom into a sandwich-making assembly line with 50 students all coming together to make 415 sandwiches, gathering all the peanut butter, jelly, bread, and supplies on our own. In just 45 minutes, we packed everything up and delivered it to The Legacy Closet. This is what teamwork, leadership, and genuine compassion look like. We truly showed up for our community, and we couldn't be more proud. Feeding The Future saw a need and stepped up without hesitation.

National Honor Society Advisor Lisa Hitchcock thanks NHS for giving her the opportunity to spread good in the Coral Springs and Parkland community throughout her 33 years of teaching at MSD and her 25 years of serving as NHS advisor in her farewell speech. Her speech concluded her final NHS Induction Ceremony, an event held to welcome new members to NHS; AP Human Geography teacher Lauren Saccomanno is set to advise NHS next school year. "I'm very emotional to leave," Hitchcock said. "It's been a great honor to work with these wonderful students, but I feel the program will be in good hands." #photooftheday #eagleeyenews #msd #nhs #inductions
