This is what happens when you get more than a dozen creative people together who are filled with both rage and hope. We create wearable acts of resistance and reenergized our souls. I can’t believe we’re already in September!!!

Along with normal crafty programming I am also going to be part of an Activist Fashion Gathering in Middletown, OH with @msglendamiles @fortheloveofthreadandplants and @sillysewinggoose

It is a whole day of up-cycling items you already have into wearable art. There will be stations for textile painting, easy embroidery, patch making, beading, stamping, stenciling, chain stitching, and more. We want everyone walking out with garments of empowerment and dissent. Info👇

When: September 19th from 10-3 (food and beverages provided)
Where: Pendleton Art Center (making art is Vance’s hometown is especially sweet)
Cost: $75
What to bring: clothing you want to turn into art, fabric scraps to share, scissors, and a heart filled with love, hope, and rage.

I am so very grateful to have badass craftivists like @msglendamiles in my community who host events like this one. We made stamped patches of varying degrees of anger and hope to wear proudly in our red state of Ohio. It’s so important to remember that community is resistance and that we can participate in small acts of resistance daily.

Side note that this event was even more sun in that it took place in Middletown, hometown of JD Vance. ✌️🛋️

Celebrating strong women this weekend with some of the best badasses I know. Thanks, @msglendamiles for hosting. My only input for improvement is more time. I could have worked on this for a couple more hours. @the_savagestitcher brought the best fabric swatches!! I love that our paths have crossed! Glad I got to share the ride with @dahbarrett_sews - that was a fun car ride getting to know each other.

Join us for September First Friday! Downtown Middletown hosts its 2nd annual Mrs. Roper Romp on Sept. 5th!

The fun will be all over the downtown starting at 5pm! Enjoy specials at local businesses for anyone dressed as Helen!

The official walk will start at 6pm! Led by everyones favorite local Helen, and your event organizer Amy!

Starting at Governors Square, located on the corner of Central Ave and Broad Street. Meet up with your fellow Helens and follow the bar crawl route throughout downtown Middletown with lots of fun surprises along the way!
