NYC, którego nie pokazują. Odcinek 129.

Na górze koncerty największych gwiazd. Pod spodem pociągi, którymi codziennie podróżują tysiące ludzi. 🚆🏟️
Ale jest jeszcze coś: żeby powstała ta arena, zburzono jeden z najpiękniejszych dworców dawnego New York City.
Wyślij komuś, kto myśli, że zna Manhattan. 🗽

1. Madison Square Garden stoi nad działającym dworcem. Pod areną znajduje się New York Penn Station, obsługujący pociągi Amtrak, NJ Transit i Long Island Rail Road. To jeden z najważniejszych węzłów kolejowych Ameryki Północnej.

2. W tym miejscu stał kiedyś zupełnie inny dworzec. Oryginalny Pennsylvania Station otwarto w 1910 roku. Jego monumentalny gmach zaprojektowała pracownia McKim, Mead & White.
Warto odszukać historyczne zdjęcia. Dawny budynek wyglądał bardziej jak europejski pałac niż współczesny dworzec.

3. Zburzenie Penn Station stało się symbolem utraty historycznego NYC.
Rozbiórkę rozpoczęto w październiku 1963 roku. Wywołała debatę, która pomogła rozwinąć ruch ochrony zabytków w NYC.

4. Dzisiejsze Madison Square Garden otwarto w 1968 roku. Obecna arena została otwarta 11 lutego 1968 roku i jest czwartym obiektem noszącym tę nazwę.

Chicken Cutlet Caprese at Madison Square Garden?! 🍗🧀

MSG invited me to Taste of the Garden, where I tried Luchini Italian Sandwich Shop’s Chicken Cutlet Caprese: breaded chicken, prosciutto, marinated buffalo mozzarella, basil, tomato, and arugula on sourdough.

Luchini is serving Italian sandwiches at the Garden, where the Knicks and Rangers play. Would you order this before a game?

Harry Styles’ Café 30 at Madison Square Garden has a special menu for his 30-show residency! ✨

MSG invited me to Taste of the Garden, where I tried three Café 30 treats: Fried Oreos ($10), funnel cake ($10), and the Me & You Mocktail ($11), made with lemonade, blood orange juice, and rose water.

The Harry Styles-themed concession stand also serves Disco Fries, a meatball-filled Retro Kone, chicken pibil nachos, a Dance Dog, a gold-accented pretzel with honey-wasabi dip, and falafel bites. It’s on the Kalshi Concourse outside Section 112 at MSG.

Which Café 30 item would you try first?
