Susan L. Taylor has poured love, wisdom, and discipline into generations of us.

Her leadership in my life helped shape how I understand service, community, and the responsibility we carry to protect and nurture our children.

Last night we celebrated her 80th birthday and the extraordinary legacy she continues to lead through the National CARES Mentoring Movement. Being in that room celebrating her, and the movement she built meant the world to me.

There are rooms that remind you why the work matters. Why the love matters.

I was grateful to be surrounded by friends, and family I love deeply.

And to the incredible people behind the scenes who helped make sure the story of this night reached far beyond the ballroom, thank you.

Still holding the joy and the purpose of this evening. What a beautiful celebration of legacy and love. ❤️ #CARESgala26

Our dedicated CARES Affiliates and program leaders are actively engaged from coast to coast. They are recruiting mentors in Washington, DC, establishing local partnerships with legacy organizations like @alphasofla in Los Angeles, and overseeing impactful group mentoring initiatives in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Seattle, Miami, New Orleans, and New York City.

If you are interested in signing up to become a mentor or an episodic skills-based volunteer (aka Super Mentor) to bolster our career readiness and workforce development efforts, or learning more about our programs, reach out to us at info at caresmentoring dot org.

Thank you.💜🧡

I am so glad I got to celebrate with you my style and I got to make history with you going with you on your first cruise we had an amazing time and I know the girls have celebrated with you so good today. May you look at these pictures and it remind you of our pre-60th birthday celebration for you. We love you and happy birthday Cousin Gwen. I’m also saluting a bunch of others today but Icould not put them in this post as this is her milestone birthday. Love you. Can’t wait to travel with you again I know it will not be long. A huge #ThankfulThursday wish is extended to our strategic partner @sephora for hosting a special volunteer moment to benefit a few families in our SoCal network this holiday season. Last week, Sephora Squad influencers, an amazing community of beauty lovers and other creatives from all backgrounds and audience sizes, and our LA area CARES Affiliate and program leaders, participated in a "Secret Angel" gift wrapping and gift giving activity, spreading joy and warmth to families connected to the schools and programs we partner with in Los Angeles USD, Compton USD, and the San Fernando Valley.

Love is the ultimate community make-over and we are grateful for this collaboration glow-up!

Thank you @sephoralife @ktino4 @khalliwood @wearevalues @nikiy_luna @jasonalanlandis @mscharleymoore @melendybaham @nlacc_ @msgwencole @the_captain_burton @magdalinejanet @bgcsfv @itsbrandyncross @fionanicolez @rejuvenatediarra.byfi @kendi_kendall @jenn_aedo @mrmentortainsteve @iamamazingdi for reminding us that we belong to something beautiful!
